Last night’s matchup between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark was more exciting than fans expected. Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter shoving the Fever rookie to the floor captured all the headlines. Yet, the Chi-Town Barbie has stayed in her form to prove that she can be both a girly girl off the court and a monster on the floor. However, Reese applauding her teammate for shoving the 2x National Player of the Year seems fresh in everyone’s memory. As a result, her latest X post is receiving backlash from the basketball world.

Angel Reese took to her X account today to show off her tunnel outfit and her practice outfit. The silent message behind the post seemed to be the fact that she could do both things simultaneously.

In Saturday’s game at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the rookies only gave each other a fist bump. This was quite contrasting to how Caitlin Clark has been meeting the rest of the 2024 draft class. However, it also may have been the fact that Angel Reese was locked in. Another thing that everyone also noticed was that Carter deflected any questions on Clark after the game and the WNBA fined Reese for not being available to the media.

Although her intentions with this post did not seem to throw any shade at Caitlin Clark, fans are not hesitating to remind her that she lost the game against Indiana.

Angel Reese has gloomy clouds hovering over her

The Sky rookie had earlier shown her preparation for the game by giving the fans a glimpse of her custom-made Reebok kicks. While the fans were happy to see the excitement, the same feeling turned against her after the defeat. One fan did not shy away at all, as they suggested that she should stop posting on social platforms and work in the gym instead. Saturday was the second game of the year between Angel Reese and the former Iowa star. In both the games, the 2x NCAA finalist took the win. Although Angel Reese performed well in the rebounding aspect with 13 for the night, it was not enough to please the fans.

“Just stop posting and work on your game. Thanks.”

An X user had a very simple question to ask the current leading offensive rebounder of the league. They asked why she was jealous of Caitlin Clark. It seems quite an appropriate question, as Angel Reese is also as popular as the 2x Naismith Player of the Year. In fact, both college basketball stars are the major reasons for the league’s accelerating popularity.

“why you so jealous bout clark”

Angel Reese not showing up for the post-game press conference also became a huge headline. Hence, one basketball follower could not help themselves as they mentioned the same. Only Kamilla Cardoso and Chennedy Carter became part of the media availability, along with head coach Teresa Weatherspoon. Consequently, the WNBA fined the hooper $1000 and the Sky franchise $5000 for not following the league’s media policy.

“Scared of media lmao”

Saturday’s matchup was not just about reigniting the fire on the floor. It also turned into a backlash party as one fan not only asked Angel Reese to apologize to Clark but also suggested that the Fever rookie has “made her.” They also re-introduced the old debate of how Caitlin Clark is the reason why the WNBA has allowed charter flights for the teams.

“Apologize to Caitlin Clarke! Without her you would be in row 32C on the plane!! Don’t forget who made you!”

One fan jumped into the comment section and ended the conversation by suggesting how Angel Reese is more focused on her tunnel game than the game of basketball. As soon as the 22-year-old forward entered the tunnel, everyone turned to see her rock the look. The fan suggested that while she may have won the tunnel contest, the day was more about winning the game on the court. They also gave her a few tips on what she should be fixing for her next game.

“More worried about the ootd than fixing that jumper and the 33% from the field. CC better”
