The hectic schedule of the WNBA is one of the most talked about points among its fans. Every franchise is going through a game in more or less a 72-hour window this time around. The situation is tighter for teams like Indiana Fever who are participating every alternative day. Amidst all this back-to-back action, there is some respite for these woman athletes.

As it turns out, for the next few days, the fans are in for fierce competition. All the top-notch teams are engaged in some hard-hitting basketball. Still, the fans will have to make do on June 3rd when not a single game is scheduled to take place. According to trusted sources, it is majorly because of the back-to-back games that the Commissioner’s Cup is bringing to the table.

After 4 regular season games on May 31st, some high-profile clashes in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup are lined up. The month of June will kick start with old foes Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese locking horns at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Following this, four intense battles will grace the basketball court the very next day with teams like Atlanta, Connecticut, Dallas and Phoenix all in business. In addition to this, Caitlin Clark and Co. will take the floor again against last year’s runners-up the Liberty.

In previous years, franchises would indulge in a home-and-home set against each opponent in the conference. Now, each team will participate in 5 games each against their respective conference counterparts. The top two franchises from each of the conferences will contest in the championship game eventually. This year, the game will take place on June 25 on the home turf of the team garnering the best overall record.

The locker room of the winning squad will receive a cash prize of $30,000 each. Furthermore, the MVP of the Finals will get an additional $5,000. Meanwhile, the runners-up will be entitled to an amount of $10,000 each. Last year, New York Liberty lifted the title by defeating the eventual WNBA winners the Las Vegas Aces in the Finals.

An exciting next few days await the WNBA fans. With so many high-profile match-ups involving some fiery competitions, everyone can expect the TV rating to go off the roof and the stadiums getting sold-outs. Surely, the atmosphere will fulfill all the hype and expectations around the competition.
