Does Jewell Loyd's relationship with Tea Adams give her an edge on the court?

Jewell Loyd, also known as the ‘Gold Mamba,’ made a lasting impact with her standout performance in the WNBA’s 2023 season. Now, she’s ready to don the Team USA jersey at the Paris Olympics. While there will be many supporters rooting for the Seattle Storm star, one thing is certain: her girlfriend, Téa Adams, will be cheering the loudest.

Loyd often lights up Instagram feeds with adorable pics with her partner. However, a lot of people still don’t know much about the woman who captured Gold Mamba’s heart. Let’s take a closer look at the partner of the Seattle Storm star.

Téa Adams: A global hooper with athletic roots

Just like Jewell Loyd, Téa Adams is a hooper. Though she hasn’t been a part of the WNBA, she serves as a point guard for the Estonia Women’s National Basketball Team. Considering Loyd’s post from last year in August, Adams has been her partner for more than a year. Born in Kirkland, Washington State, the 25 -year-old stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and has some serious athletic genes. Her dad, Sam Adams, was a football star who rocked the field for the Seattle Seahawks

Adams’ basketball resume is quite diverse. She started off strong, playing four years for the San Diego State Aztecs between 2017 and 2020. After that, she decided to switch things up and spent a year with the Oregon State Beavers. She didn’t get much of playing time there as she featured in 30 games, starting 11 of them. However, she didn’t fail to impress when got her first start, scoring 13 points and seven assists. She finished that season with 91 points and 67 assists.

But she didn’t stop there! Looking to take her game to the next level, Adams headed overseas. She suited up for Valur Reykjavik in Iceland and then joined the Wings Leverkusen team in Germany. Rewind to August 2023, that was the first time when Jewell Loyd featured her girlfriend Téa Adams on her Instagram feed. She uploaded a post that congratulated Adams, “I am soooooo proud of you Queen! You have been so focused and locked in (maybe a little stressed) but congrats on getting your masters in natural resources!!! Not only have you been owning life you have truly made mine better!!!! This is only the beginning. Love you.”

Even Adams hasn’t been shy about expressing her love for the Gold Mamba. She shared a heartfelt birthday wish for Jewell Loyd on her Instagram. “Celebrating and loving you are two of the easiest things I’ve ever done. Happy 30 trips around the sun to a soul that makes the world a better place. Keep shining,” captioned Adam’s post from October, 2023.

The Seattle Storm guard has a devoted fan in Téa Adams, who has her own impressive athletic journey.
