The previous best score in the All-Star has been of Kelsey Plum and Maya Moore with 30 points each. While Plum hit 30 points in 2022 and was honored with the All-Star MVP trophy, Moore had touched the mark in 2015. Plum was playing for Team Wilson against Team Stewart in the 2022 season.

She helped her team win the match by a 134-112 margin and hit 2 rebounds and 3 assists in the game. Other than that she had 12 field goals and 5 three-pointers. All this helped her clinch the MVP award that season which was lauded by her critics too. Other than Plum, the other person to touch the 30-point mark as mentioned previously is Maya Moore.

Moore accomplished the feat in 2015 when the West clashed with the East. The West won the game by a narrow margin of 117-112. She also scored 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the process. Other than that, she helped with 10 out of 16 field goals and 6 out of 10 three-pointers. Thus, all this ended in Moore winning the MVP award.

Another important thing to note is that Moore has won the MVP award highest times (3). She has shared this accomplishment with Lisa Leslie who too has taken home the All-Star MVP title thrice. Meanwhile, the record for the most All-Star game selections goes to Sue Bird who has made it to the team 13 times.

However, it is a point to note that Bird hasn’t won the All-Star MVP award ever despite making it to the team the maximum times.
