Imagine stepping onto the court, not just to play, but to make a statement. Angel Reese’s debut for the Rose Basketball Club in the Unrivaled 3×3 league is about more than just the game—it’s about reinvention. While fans are eager to see her in action, the buzz surrounding her is more than just about her performance. Her cryptic tweet, “Them mf tables always turn,” and the bold custom kicks she’s rocking have her fans talking non-stop. But right now, Reese’s story isn’t just about fashion or style. It’s about change, strength, and making her mark in history.

Reese, whose magnetic personality is widely known, will be on the court for the Rose Basketball Club when it takes on the Vinyl squad in Miami on January 17, 2025. It’s not just her first Unrivaled League appearance but also a tribute to her own style and spirit. Fans have already been dissecting every detail of her preparation since her uniform reveal, to her latest custom Reebok sneakers.

A debut for Angel Reese that’s more than just Basketball

Interestingly, her first footwear in Unrivaled league were created in collaboration with Chicago artist Marvin Baroota with rose motifs delicately sculptured on her shoes which pay homage to her team. However, if you want the Reebok Engine A sneakers they are not available through retail. Still, sneakerheads can expect the standard Engine A models in stores Spring 2025.

Reese’s decision to create custom footwear with a collaborator ties in well with her versatility of blending performance with personality. Which her fans have grown used to. Reese’s Rose Basketball Club will take the spotlight in the second game of the doubleheader in Miami to start the inaugural season, which will air on TNT.

Co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, the Unrivaled league is not just another sports competition. The league offers better pay, shorter seasons and cutting edge facilities by giving an alternative platform to WNBA players during their offseason.

In Miami, the Unrivaled League has put in a significant amount of money to build a world class, player centric facility. It has saunas and recovery zones, Sephora crafted glam rooms, everything players need to focus on their game. Also one great inclusion for athletes with families has been the inclusion of childcare services—with vetted nannies, and nursery facilities.

Angel Reese has also recently reacted to all these facilities in unriavaled. “Everything I need is here. From massages to cold tubs, to being able to have resources, to workouts and everything,” she said during her first media availability with Unrivaled. Her words reflect a shared sentiment among players drawn to this new basketball ecosystem.

Unrivaled in the core is about financially and personally empowering the players. The average earnings top WNBA standards and with an $8 million salary pool for just 36 players, it’s no game. In addition, players gain equity interest in the league as well. With the extensive resources, Reese and others can now stay in the U.S. during the offseason without having to sign taxing overseas contracts. Also, for Angel Reese, the transition to Unrivaled isn’t just professional—it’s personal.

Camaraderie in the Rose Basketball Club

Angel Reese was embraced wholeheartedly by Rose Basketball Club teammates. In the locker room, her teammates celebrated the cover of Vogue’s 2025 Winter issue with a bunch of gold balloons, cupcakes, and rose bouquets. Reese appreciated the gesture by calling her teammates “sweet.”
