Tonight is a big night for the Iowa sensation Caitlin Clark as she tries to respond to her rival Angel Reese. Very often in these situations, the Indiana Fever rookie throws the towel to her emotions. Consequently, she gets up in the space of the officiating crew. Something that happened tonight as well. Hence, watching her argue with the referee, Fever’s Kelsey Mitchell finds a way in Lexie Hull to keep the rookie from getting a whistle. Sky fans are not thrilled that the point guard snuck away from the call.
Caitlin Clark had been on her foot the entire game tonight. When it came down to it, she has also been arguing with the referees to get explanations on their calls. In the first quarter, Kelsey Mitchell got a free throw. But it seemed like the rookie wanted it to be two free throws. As she was having a heated discussion with Agon Abazi, one of the referees for the night, the 7-year veteran sent Hull to Clark, so the referee wouldn’t convert the discussion to a whistle.

Certainly, that call was right from the shooting guard. It has been raining fouls left and right in the Wintrust Arena and Aliyah Boston for one has already faced the brunt of a technical. But getting Caitlin Clark a foul would have meant a lot for Chicago as she is on a hot streak tonight and is the primary facilitating force for Indiana. And as the fans did not get to see it, they reached X to find justice.
Chicago Sky fans displeased with the no-call on Caitlin Clark
There is something so special to be a Chicago follower as they resonate with their teams at every step. Hence, as the Sky watches itself fall at the hands of the Fever, the fans cannot help but ask for the right calls by the officiating crew. Comparing Caitlin Clark’s behavior towards the referees, one of the enthusiasts commented how Reese would never talk to them like this. While the basketball world now knows that the Indiana rookie is quite fiery, should she really get a tech for discussing a call with the referee?–“Where is the tech on Caitlin for talking to refs crazy? Angel could never. #wnba”
Another thing that the WNBA fans have also noticed about the Des Moines native is that she will try to make her point at every call. Just like she did tonight as well. Some X users could not take that anymore as they mentioned how she should get a technical just for behaving this way – “If these refs don’t give Caitlin a tech I’m so sick of seeing her throw a tantrum after every whistle.” Referring to the same sentiment, another fan said, “Tech Caitlin Clark all that crying.”
Whether you call it emotions taking over the Sky fans or the fact that the Indiana Fever just might win the season series with tonight’s matchup, the loyalists are not letting things go easy for Caitlin Clark. Another one came up on X to mention that the referee should get the Fever rookie a whistle–“Give Caitlin a tech.” Another comment that also showed the same sentiment was–“Give Caitlin a tech so she can shut up plz.”
