Needless to say, A’ja Wilson is THE star of the team that won back-to-back WNBA titles. The 27-year-old dominated on the court last season, winning multiple accolades along the way, topped off by the Finals MVP award. But she was brilliantly supported by the other stars on the team, such as Kelsey Plum, Chelsea Gray, and the recently retired Candace Parker, among others. While several variables are being associated with the upcoming season, one thing appears to be constant- the Las Vegas Aces being successful.
On top of that, Wilson winning her third MVP award in a span of five years and being named the Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive year are basic expectations from the fans of a team that seems unstoppable. So when does it all tip off?

Similar to how they start the season, they’ll end it at home against the Dallas Wings on September 19. And the teams looks to be prepared ahead of another long season.
A’ja Wilson is set to rule the season
The 2023 WNBA Finals MVP has been brushing on her skills before the season tips off on May 14th. To elevate her game to a superior level, A’ja Wilson desires to continue her relentless efforts to push the limits. After registering two consecutive championship wins, it is natural for the Aces to look forward in the direction that has the potential to lead the team to a third consecutive title.
“I love the game… I don’t want to be average, I want to continue to uplift each other and myself. But at the same time, it’s still things I want to check off… still things that I want to do. I don’t just want to die down and be like, ‘Oh, she was good in the first part of her career, what happened?’ I want to continue to push that needle, continue to grow in my game, and along with my teammates,” Wilson elaborated on her idea of how she wishes to spend her 2024 WNBA season.

A’ja Wilson has been a part of the W for a better part of this decade and has seen how different it gets with every season. Giving an essence of the same A’ja talked about how the league has developed through the recent years, saying, “We got to measure ourselves up against the competition because you know the league just only gets better every single year. This isn’t the same league as it was in my rookie year. So, in due time, I’ll probably have an answer for you, but right now I just need to get out there on the court.”

Notably, the above-mentioned names were the center of discussion throughout the 2023-24 NCAA season. So, bracing for a considerable impact is highly wise of Wilson, although, let’s not forget she has been playing in the WNBA for more than 5 years now, making her a well-seasoned player herself. Hopes are high. Let’s see how the Aces perform this year.
