If you thought WNBA’s new season start hasn’t been electrifying enough, then two rookies will surely change your mind. Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are set to continue their rivalry in the WNBA. The Chicago Sky travel to Indianapolis to take on the Indiana Fever at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Reese and the Sky are looking for their second win in a row, while Clark and the Fever are looking for their second win of the season. The rivalry was a hot topic of debate during the NCAA days. But both of the stars have always spoken about each other in high regard. And once again before facing for the first time, Clark had positive words for Reese.

The thing about her is like, she’s been so dominant in what she does ever since we played in you know,high school. I vividly remember we played at Boo Williams I must have been a sophomore at the time and like, we just got killed on the glass and like that just hasn’t changed.”

“Like she’s always had a knack for being able to rebound the ball and like, that’s just translated immediately into the WNBA She’s so good at reading the ball off the glass and going and getting extra possessions for her team. Those are the little things that help your team win.

Clark added that she has “a lot of respect” for Reese. Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have picked up their form from where they left off during their collegiate career. Another rookie who would want to stamp her authority would be Kamilla Cardoso. The Sky teammate would make her debut in the WNBA after missing out on games due to injury.

Angel Reese shares the same sentiment as Caitlin Clark

Talking about Kamila, Caitlin Clark gave her the same respect as Reese. She shared how in the past, Cardoso has been a prominent challenger. Even though there are matchups against her, the Brazilian would still somehow find her way. Praising her that she would find her rhythm very quickly even though she was out with an injury.

Reese joined ESPN for a pregame interview where she spoke about the 2024 draft class and her rivalry with Clark. “I think all the rookies have done a great job being able to elevate and go to the next level and allow it to translate. I think we’ve all done a great job, especially me and Caitlin,” Reese said.

The ‘Chi-Town Barbie’ would wear special custom-made Reebok sneakers. Marvin Baroota on his X account “Angel Reese ‘Barbie’ Edition for Saturdays game against Fever.” Reese reshared and captioned it with various heart and flower emojis, she showed her appreciation for the hard work.

Definitely, the veterans of the league have created a level for the league. Rookie players like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso, and others have taken the baton, strapped a rocket on their backs, and shot the league to unprecedented heights.
