Move over, Breanna Stewart. Jewell Loyd broke the single season scoring record in a dramatic Friday night matchup, cementing her place in WNBA history. With 33 points, Loyd outscored Breanna Stewart and surpassed her to set a new league record of 911 points in a single season.

However, despite her outstanding performance, the Dallas Wings presented the Storm with a tough challenge.

The Dallas Wings defeated the Storm 106-91, paced by the 23 points from Natasha Howard and the 21 points from Satou Sabally. Dallas now has the No. 4 seed in the WNBA playoffs, guaranteeing them home-court advantage in the opening round. Seattle, on the other side, had a disappointing season as they were unable to make the playoffs.

With 19 points and a career-high 10 assists, Arike Ogunbowale played a crucial role for the Wings. This was her second double-double in her career. Teaira McCowan helped the Wings dominate the boards with a 36-23 rebounding advantage with her 16 points and 9 rebounds. Seattle was unable to overcome Dallas’ offensive prowess despite Loyd’s historic performance and her milestone of 500 career 3-pointers.

Dallas made a big push forward in the third quarter, winning 106-91 to end the game. With this victory, the Dallas Wings now sit at the fourth spot in the WNBA playoffs.
