If there were one partnership that should’ve been a no-brainer, it would’ve been this: Angel Reese and Hershey’s Reese’s, arguably the two most popular Reeses in the US. Well, after a Hershey’s spokesperson mentioned how a Reese x Reese collaboration “does sound quite tasty,” it looks like the deal could potentially happen! And it all started just a couple of days after Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky defeated Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in an 88-87 thriller.
“Reese’s pieces where yall at?????” tweeted Reese on June 25. And before she knew it, Hershey’s Reese’s replied: “Where are we? Just following our favorite player.” Since then, the Chicago Sky star has started referencing the beloved candy brand, specifically its Reese’s Pieces, a lot more, fueling suspicions. On July 4, “TMZ Sports has learned Hershey’s is in talks with the WNBA superstar about a potential partnership.” So, yes, we could get Angel Reese’s Reese’s Pieces soon. But not before the products of a different partnership concerning Caitlin Clark.
The Indiana Fever star had a full-circle moment in May this year. Clark started her basketball journey in her driveway, playing with a Wilson basketball. “I loved that thing more than anything. My brothers and I would always fight over it,” she told Boardroom. Having played with the $6.6 billion brand’s basketballs since then, preferring them over everything else, Wilson found the perfect opportunity to form a mutually beneficial relationship. Considering it resumed its role as the WNBA’s official ball in 2021, it was like partnering with Clark was meant to be.

“Driveway. NCAA. WNBA. Playing with Wilson since the journey began – now we’re making it official. Welcome to Wilson Basketball, Caitlin.” That was the press release from May, and less than two months later, on July 5, the company announced the Caitlin Clark Limitless Series. They wrote on Instagram, “Made for Defying Limits. The first collection from Caitlin Clark and Wilson Basketball arrives 7/9.” As every Clark fan looks forward to the unveiling on July 9, what exactly will be part of this series?
Three basketballs. And they’ll feature Caitlin Clark’s goals from her childhood dream board: –
- The 3951 Basketball: This will feature her initials and #22, paying homage to the record-breaking 3,951 points she scored in her NCAA career. The Wilson logo will have Clark’s childhood dream repeated inside it: “Get a basketball scholarship. Play in the WNBA.”
- The Repetition Basketball: The Wilson basketball Clark had when she played in her driveway was black and yellow, a foreshadowing of her record-breaking tenure with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Paying homage to her journey, the Repetition Basketball will feature #22 repeated in geometric patterns all across the ball’s surface. The colors? Black and yellow.
- The Basketball Ascent: This black and white, monochrome design will evoke the official WNBA ball, embossed with Clark’s signature as a recognition of her ascent to the professional league and the legacy she continues to create.
“It feels surreal to have my own basketball collection, and I hope it inspires the next generation of boys and girls to pick up a ball and play,” the Fever star said. Having become only the second basketball player after Michael Jordan to partner with Wilson, Clark made even more history. And surprisingly (or unsurprisingly), this collection won’t be the first time Wilson has had a Caitlin Clark-themed basketball.

The first, released shortly after announcing their collaboration, was called the Caitlin Clark Highlight Reel Basketball. It features Wilson’s white and gold color scheme for the official WNBA ball with engravings that celebrate some of the 22-year-old’s history-making moments. From playing with Wilson’s basketball as a kid with a dream to having her own collection with the company, Clark has come a long way. And it doesn’t look like she’s stopping anytime soon.
Coming back to Angel Reese and her rumored partnership with Hershey’s Reese’s. Seeing as the opportunity to partner with the Chicago Sky star was staring right at them – even before she made it to the WNBA, playing for LSU – why didn’t the idea of this collaboration come up sooner?
Angel Reese’s deal didn’t come earlier due to one reason: football
Remember how the candy company’s official X account called Angel their “favorite player.” Well, just one day after that, renowned shoe artist and designer Marvin Baroota revealed custom Reece’s Pieces shoes for the Chicago Sky star. And Angel Reese has shown her love for the candy even more since then, even tweeting, “Goodmorning to the Reese’s Pieces and the Reese’s Pieces onlyyyyyy🥰”

So when it comes to a potential partnership between the two, some reports suggest the talks didn’t happen because of another partnership Reese’s started with college football players in October 2022. Hershey’s signed a NIL deal with 12 football athletes with Reese as their last name. As a result of the deals, Hershey’s released new football-shaped Reese’s products. So it makes sense why the company waited to have talks with Angel Reese. But as they say, it’s never too late.
