An enticing encounter between Connecticut and Chicago ended up on a losing note for Angel Reese. The 2021 champions were unable to defend their fort as they went down 86-82 at the Wintrust Arena. However, this is not the only headline coming out of the Windy City. The Sun’s MVP contender last season Alyssa Thomas committed a flagrant foul 2 on Reese. As a result, the 4x WNBA All-Star got ejected late in the third quarter. On the other hand, despite hitting the floor hard, Reese refused to leave the court and continued the game further. After its conclusion, she reflected on the incident in her interaction with the media.
This incident happened after both these athletes were tussling over a rebound and Thomas forced the forward down towards the floor by extending her arm onto Reese’s neck. Consequently, these on-court antics were then reviewed by the officials and they came up with the decision soon enough.
