Is Sheryl Swoopes out of line for her Caitlin Clark comments, or does she have a point?

Will Caitlin Clark come into the WNBA and do what she’s doing right now immediately? Absolutely not”. Not once, not twice, but multiple times the WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes has gotten herself into the fiery hell of Clark loyalists. However, seems like there is no resolution between the two in this one-sided fight. Once again, the 4x WNBA champion shared her thoughts on the first overall pick. And again, not many are siding with her. At least not this ESPN analyst.

The ESPN analyst got the facts out on Swoopes on The Elle Duncan Show. The host clapped back by saying, “I love her but she’s wrong here.” Duncan explained where she comes from as she pointed out that she is not saying Swoopes is wrong for making a case for Angel Reese in the ROTY run.

However, she added, “It just feels like there’s something there. And I’m not really sure what is not connecting with Sheryl. I don’t know if some of that is driven in sort of the hurt, she felt from the fanbase or some of the attacks that were leveled at her after she had those comments a few months ago, but this feels really really really off part. This just doesn’t feel right at all. And it is starting to feel like hate from Sheryl.”

The Indiana Fever ended at the tenth position in the league last year. As a result, they did not make it into the playoffs. On the other hand, they are already about to catch up with their total wins from last year in the next few games. Hence, Duncan believes Caitlin Clark has certainly added to the team. Not to mention, she is leading the WNBA in most points created for the team.

The Fever is already at the seventh playoff seed and is only growing stronger by the day. Still, here is what Sheryl Swoopes said for Caitlin Clark.

What is the latest tea from the Sheryl Swoopes vs Caitlin Clark episode?

Is Sheryl Swoopes out of line for her Caitlin Clark comments, or does she have a point?

Have an interesting take?

When Caitlin Clark was blasting her opponents back in Iowa, Swoopes had a few words for the No. 22. Then, she mentioned how she takes 60 shots a game. Even when the Hawkeye sensation broke Kelsey Plum’s NCAA’s all-time leading scorer record, the Hall of Famer had mentioned how she didn’t do it in four years like the Aces star did.

Certainly, she had to later apologize to Clark and her fans for the “uninformed” thoughts. Not only that, but the Indiana Fever rookies’ fans have also usually taken her comments as inflammatory and critical without actual analysis. While she did get things straight with the Des Moines native then, she has returned to her old ways.

In the recent episode of Queens of the Court, hosted by Sheryl Swoopes and Jordan Robinson, the 3x Olympic gold medalist mentioned, “I don’t know if Chicago is in the playoffs right now without Angel, right? Is Indiana in the playoffs right now without Caitlin? When you look at the overall team, like the pieces that they have, without question, Indiana has better players than Chicago. From top to bottom.”

While Caitlin Clark has never responded to any of these comments, Elle Duncan mentioned how at least the fans are not making it a narrative of the entire WNBA anymore. Although it will be interesting what the golden rookie of the league has to say about all the shots taken at her.
