Chicago’s ferocious rookie Angel Reese is no stranger to harsh criticisms and online backlash. The 3x All-American forward has been at the receiving end of some fierce negativity following her comments after Chicago’s loss last Sunday against the Indiana Fever. Among the recent eminent names who are not holding back on Reese is American sports columnist and commentator Skip Bayless. Nonetheless, it appears that the 2023 National Champion has some support after all.

Former NFL Star Marcellus Wiley evaluated Bayless’ recent allegations on Angel Reese. Bayless opined that Reese’s post-game comments reflect a sense of jealousy and bitterness toward her adversary Caitlin Clark. However, Wiley thinks that it is nothing more than a professional tussle between the two. Adding his views to it, he says, “They really going at each other. But, the world is judging it and seeing it differently. And that kind of hard for her to grasp.”

In addition to this, the 49-year-old thinks that Reese is not defending herself against these allegations. So, he decided to step and decided to answer this particular “jealousy” narrative of Bayless. As it turns out, he thinks that Reese’s behavior is just displaying her passion and competitive spirit.

Wiley expressed, “Okay I got to defend Angel Reese right here because right now I don’t know what she is doing, but she ain’t defending herself from these comments. She looks bitter right? Jealous and bitter. Let me answer that by saying how does competitive supposed to look?”  Meanwhile, Bayless had a different approach this time around when asked again to comment on the Chicago rookie.

Skip Bayless commends Angel Reese’s “dog” mentality

The popular television show Undisputed had Skip Bayless, Paul Pierce, and Keyshawn dissected Chicago’s comeback win against Indiana. Discussing Reese’s performance for the night, Bayless said, “She definitely showed me what she was made of, because they were in big trouble in that basketball game.”

Further, he also agreed with Angel Reese’s post-game reflection of herself. Soon after the win Reese said to ESPN’s Holly Rowe, “I’m a dog. You can’t teach that.” Regardless of all the noise around her, Angel Reese continues to shine. She is slowly cementing her name among the great rookies in the league. It will be enticing for the fans to witness what will transpire next in her career.
