“I’m on vacation!” These three words echoed through the Footprint Center as Caitlin Clark announced the beginning of the Olympics break during the All-Star Weekend. Surely, her smile was as big as the reason why she, of many WNBA stars, completely deserved to get away from basketball. The rookie has been continuously playing since September of last year when the NCAA tournaments began. While the break can be quite beneficial for the athlete, her fans were quite down as they missed her hooping. Until now!
Earlier this month, Caitlin Clark, Lexie Hull, and Katie Lou Samuelson broke the internet with their overloaded cuteness as they played “mermaids.” Now, something similar has happened as the three hang out together on an island unknown. Recently, Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend’s brother Patrick McCaffery shared Samuelson’s Instagram story as his tweet. He wrote along with the click, “KATIE LOU IS HANGING WITH THE MERMAIDS‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️”

Certainly, the mood was their favorite game of Mermaids. It was also one of those rare times when Caitlin Clark appeared in swimwear. Nevertheless, the vacation on the waterside also reminds us of the 2024 WNBA draft night rapid-fire round. There, the first overall pick had mentioned the beach to be her perfect spot over the mountains for a break.
It is a great way for this trio to bond before the season begins again. Hopefully, they will also continue their successful run after this much-deserved break. Talking about games, Caitlin Clark’s fans definitely rejoiced to see her face one month before as she returns in an Indiana Fever jersey to take on the Phoenix Mercury.
Caitlin Clark fans share mixed emotions over her latest photo
The former Hawkeye is one of the most polarizing athletes. However, this time, it is her fans that are showing various emotions. Seeing their favorite athlete having fun, some were scared for her while some were happy. Of course, some were pressed in on the theme of the entire storyline of mermaids. One fan, who has time and again shown their love for Caitlin Clark, remembered the last time that they all came together to play a game other than basketball. Bringing back the memories from the desert of Phoenix, the fan cheered for the trio’s return.

Have an interesting take?
“AHHHH our mermaid trio is back 🧜♀️💞”
Caitlin Clark has just started her career and is merely 22 years of age. So, many of her fans include people older than her. Hence, many of them would be quite aged as the Des Moines native reaches her peak years in the league. Resonating with the same feeling, one follower mentioned how they would be in the nursing home one day. Then, they would be telling the tales of these Mermaids that are already en route to change the image of the Indiana franchise.
“Imagine when we are all old and senile and our grandkids visit us in the nursing home and we keep repeating the tale of the Indiana Fever Mermaids 🧜♀️!”
Remember the way Caitlin Clark came to the Olympic break? The Indiana Fever got the better of the Phoenix Mercury twice, the New York Liberty, and the Minnesota Lynx. All thanks to their rookie. While they lost their last game to Arike Ogunbowale’s Dallas Wings, the former Hawkeye broke the WNBA record for most assists in a game with her 19 impressive passes.
Interestingly, she did all this without having a significant break. Hence, now that she is on a 4-week vacation, she will quite possibly recharge herself enough to come out with a literal bang! One fan said just that. They mentioned how the very thought of watching her in her best form after the break is giving them goosebumps already.
“I am feeling goosebumps, thinking about that mermaid relaxed 🤩🤩🤩is going to be epic when she comes to work again 🤣🤣🤣🤣”
However, not all fans were rejoicing her on the break and in the ocean. Some of them were also concerned. A Caitlin Clark fan spelled out their fears for the rookie. One of them even brought in sharks! They questioned whether her contract with the Fever includes safety as the guard is swimming with the sea creature.
“Dunno if her Wnba contract includes swimmin with sharks …”
It has only been five days since we last saw Caitlin Clark breaking the All-Star rookie record with her 10 assists. Still, her fans wish to see her again already. Breaks are quite essential for any athlete, especially the guard who has played 40 minutes in most games. But seems like her fans cannot help reminding her to hoop. One follower commented that they wanted more videos and media. They also suggested that the Fever rookie should be playing basketball in the pool if that’s what it takes.
“We need another video! She better be shooting hoops in the pool”
