Angel Reese definitely knows a thing or two about championships. The former LSU No.10 proved why she was a top recruit for Kim Mulkey by leading the Lady Tigers to the program’s first-ever NCAA title in her very first season. Now, she wishes to do something similar as a rookie with the Chicago Sky. And she’s made a terrific head-start to accomplish that by making noteworthy contributions in both preseason games. Consequently, this has made Reese confident of her team’s chances this time around.
The Chicago Sky’s latest media session that centered around the 6 ft 3 in forward provided a clear picture of how she’s gearing up for the season opener. Reese said, “Obviously, there is no way but up. We can’t go any lower. It gives us a lot of motivation because our team knows what we are. Being a new team, a new coaching staff, I think we’re going to come together and surprise a lot of people.”
The 2021 WNBA champions had a rather forgettable previous season. They were 18-22 in the regular season, good enough for the 8th seed in the playoffs. However, they got swept in the very first round at the hands of eventual champions, the Las Vegas Aces. As a result, the entire franchise witnessed a makeover this season. Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso are not the only new faces.

The ownership and management are also counting on the abilities of former New Orleans Pelicans assistant coach Teresa Weatherspoon. The first step towards this mission will commence on May 15th against Dallas.
Angel Reese aims to clip some Wings
The WNBA season will begin for the Chicago Sky on Wednesday. Angel Reese and Co. will take a trip to the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas for this enticing contest. In the absence of Dallas stars, Awak Kuier and Satou Sabally, fans can expect Angel Reese to take the court to spearhead Chicago’s defense. As it turns out, she is leading the team’s stats when it comes to grabbing rebounds. Reese is currently averaging 7 rebounds per game with an equal distribution in offensive as well as in defensive boards.
Everyone has a fair bit of an idea of what Angel Reese is capable of achieving. She has provided valid proof of her skills in both the pre-season outings for the Chicago Sky. Will she be able to carry on the momentum further? Only time will tell.
