Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe: The ultimate power couple in sports—agree or disagree?

Is there a more successful couple than Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe in sports? While they are legends in their fields, they are often scrutinized by the public. Still, through everything, the WNBA legend and her fiancée find their bubble of happiness. Amongst their various excursions, one thing that has remained a constant is their love for one another. Hence, when the 39th birthday of the former professional soccer player came along, the 4x WNBA champion could not hide her excitement for the special day.

Sue Bird took it to her Instagram and shared a series of photos of the two. She captioned the post, “Happy Birthday, Megan! I know it was a good one bc you’re watching me as I type this 😂😂. I love you, baby. Here’s to another trip around the sun 🥂❤️” 

The post also grabbed the attention of the basketball world’s stars, JuJu Watkins and Klay Thompson. While the 4x NBA champion liked the delightful birthday post by Sue Bird, the USC Trojans’ 2024 Freshman of the Year gave the two crowns in the comment section, “👑👑,” probably calling them queens.

Recently, she released a docu-series along with many WNBA players, including Nneka Ogwumike, Layshia Clarendon, and more on Amazon Prime. The series named ‘Power of the Dream’ talks about WNBA players’ empowering growth and how they have created history.

The couple also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Seattle Storm. Sue Bird completed her 20-year legacy in the WNBA in the franchise and also became part of their ownership group late in April. Moreover, the couple has also relaunched their podcast, ‘A Touch More Live’, partnered with Vox Media and Sue Bird’s Togethxr. The new episodes will drop soon for the same. As for Bird’s one-on-one podcast on YouTube ‘Sue’s Places,’ she has just wrapped up its first season in April.

Additionally, Sue Bird separately and along with Rapinoe is becoming a trailblazing businesswoman. She has joined hands with many companies like Car Maxx, who are also linked to the WNBA. The 13x WNBA All-Star continues to support her friends in the league as well. Recently, she has made appearances in many New York Liberty games and also cleared the air between Diana Taurasi and Caitlin Clark, showing that relationships are indeed on her priority list. Talking about relationships, while the power couple is in no hurry to marry, it is surely lovely to see how they continue to support each other.
