Two quality squads from opposite conferences will grace the Climate Pledge Arena on Friday evening. The fixture is expected to be a mouth-watering one as the Rookie of the Month for June will look to add another double-double to her long list with her stellar performance.

However, before we can get to that, let’s have a look at which players from either of the rosters are fit enough to take the court.

Storm vs Sky: Injury status and players to watch out for

As for Angel Reese and Co., there is only one injury concern for the franchise. Their 6 ft 3 center Elizabeth Williams has been out of action ever since she suffered from a right knee injury in Chicago’s 79-71 victory at Washington on June 6. Soon after, she underwent a successful surgery to repair the concerned torn meniscus. Anyhow, there is still no official word of her return. This is after the team decided to rest her for the remainder of the season.

Still, the Sky will have a lot of potential to offer on the floor. Leading the scoring charts is their star player Chennedy Carter. The fierce No. 7 is currently managing 15.3 points per game while shooting 54.2% of her field goals. At the same time, their All-Star rookie Angel Reese is displacing prowess offensively as well as defensively. Seemingly, the former LSU standout is delivering 13.2 points and 11.8 rebounds for the Windy City. Meanwhile, the distribution responsibilities rest on the shoulders of Marina Mabrey who is dishing out 4.1 assists per contest.

On the other hand, there are no headlining injuries in the Seattle Storm camps. They are currently riding high on confidence courtesy of a 26-game exhibition by their veteran guard Jewell Loyd. On top of that, she is the team’s leading offensive player. Apparently, Loyd is garnering a scoring rate of 20.2 points per game along with securing 36.6% of her field goals. Defensively, center Ezi Magbegor can grab an average of 8.8 rebounds every time she steps on the hardwood. Similarly, Chicago’s defense will also need to watch out for Skylar Diggins-Smith who appears to be their assist master. Also, the last time both these teams faced off against one another, she ended up scoring 21 points.

With a potential match-winner on either side, it will now be interesting to see which squad has the upper hand with their starting 5.

Who will accompany Angel Reese against hosts Seattle Storm?

Ever since their loss against the Washington Mystics last month, the Sky have introduced some changes in their opening line-up. For the last 6 games, rookies Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso have taken the court alongside Marina Mabrey, Chennedy Carter, and Lindsay Allen. Carter and Allen have made their way from the bench in place of Diamond DeShields and Dana Evans. Still, the Sky holds a 24.5% probability of winning the contest as they are 4-4 in road games.

Seattle Storm is entering the contest with a heavy winning prediction of 75.5%. In addition to this, they are on a 4-game winning streak and have maintained an 8-1 record on their home turf. The usual faces opening the proceeding for them are expected to be Nneka Ogwumike, Ezi Magbegor, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Jewell Loyd, and Jordan Horston.
