The Chicago Sky marched into the league this season to become one of the toughest teams. Specifically, many fans called them a reflection of the Detroit Pistons of the NBA from back in the 90s. Whether you talk about Chennedy Carter hip-checking Caitlin Clark or Angel Reese protecting her veteran from the shots taken at her, the two have pronounced their reputation as the ‘bad boys of the league.’ But now, as they continue to climb the ladder in the league’s standings, they are here to prove them wrong about all the theories laid out so far.
In her postgame presser, Angel Reese clarified her relationship with Chennedy Carter. She said, “Yeah, like you said, it’s the Barbie-Ken duo. Obviously, we have a relationship where we’ve been through the same things we can relate a lot. A lot of people have misconceptions about us. We block out the noise, and we just go out there and ball. And it shows every night. We don’t get into everything else that doesn’t have to do with the locker room. So, as long as we have each other’s back, I know Chennedy has my back. I know I have Chennedy’s back. That’s all that matters. We don’t do a lot of talking; we just go out there and perform.”

Further clearing the apparent bad blood between the two best performers of the Sky, the LSU alum announced, “She should’ve been an All-Star.” This thought came out when T-spoon, who the rookie impressed with her answers, commended her for being the only All-Star of the franchise. Well, it certainly is proving quite correct as they both combined for 60 of 88 points in the Sky’s report for the night.
But for the misconceptions, well, here are the instances that prove that Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter are quite close.
Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter are their own duo
The Chicago fans have named them the “Chen and Barbie” duo as the two aggressive players make it their point to try and grab a win. While one brings up the offense for the team, the other dominates the paint with rebounds. But their on-court support is as famous as their off-the-court antics. Previously, when Chicago won over the Indiana Fever in their third face-off of the season, both the players were seen celebrating on the floor by recreating Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Lamar’s moves for dissing Drake.
After that, the two very peculiarly celebrated a teammate’s birthday in the locker room to show their fierce bond. Moreover, after their first-ever matchup against Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese stood up for Carter in their presser held on the next day of the game.

While we do not know what goes between them off the court, we do see a great duo in the making when they are on the floor. In their last five games, they have combined for at least over 30 points for the team. This shows that with both of their powers combined, they can be the most damaging duos in the young teams. However, it remains to be seen how long this chemistry will go on.
