Defending WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces started their title defense earlier this week as they hosted the Chicago Sky at the T-Mobile Arena. The Aces have been the team to beat all season and their recruitment of former Chicago star Candace Parker during the offseason has only made their team stronger. While the Sky managed to scrape into the Playoffs on the final day, the Aces have dominated the inaugural 40-game season winning 36 pof those as they clinched the top seed for the Playoffs.

While the Aces did lose the Commissioner’s Cup to Sabrina Ionescu’s NY Liberty, the champions are still clear favorites to retain the WNBA crown. Their season so far has been exceptional with the team breaking multiple records during the course of the year. This unprecedented season by A’ja Wilson and Co recently left an ex-NBA star in utter amazement as Tom Brady’s recent investment of millions into the franchise looks to be playing its part 6 months in.

During a recent episode of the podcast, The Old Man and the Three, host and ex-NBA star JJ Reddick discussed the Las Vegas Aces with Ryan Roucco as he looked to analyze the WNBA Playoffs with the NBA announcer. While the two spoke extensively about the Playoffs Reddick was seemingly amazed by the Aces’ performance this season as he listed down their many achievements during the year.

Revealing that the team achieved their “best offensive rating in WNBA history” this season the former Mavericks man stated, “The Las Vegas Aces this season ended up having a 113 offensive raking, the number one best offensive rating in WNBA history.”

Continuing to praise A’ja Wilson and Co’s nigh insurmountable feat JJ then expanded on their other achievement of the season as he explained, “They also ended up with a plus 15 net rating which is the third best in WNBA history only to the 2000 and 1998 Houston Commets.”

Notably, earlier this year the Las Vegas Aces announced NFL legend Tom Brady as their newest member as the Patriots icon became a minority stakeholder of the WNBA side.

While the details of the acquisition remained undisclosed Brady’s decision to invest in the side came after their recent championship run as the legendary quarterback looks to expand his business portfolio.

Having also invested in England’s championship side Birmingham City, TB12 seems to be investing most of his $250 million net worth back into various sports as the legend enters his first full year as a retired athlete.

With the Aces having spent heavily on new recruits it seems Brady’s millions are doing the trick as the LA side ended the regular season with a 36-4 record.
