Sheryl Swoopes calls out Nancy Lieberman—Who's really telling the truth in this WNBA drama?

The Caitlin Clark-Sheryl Swoopes feud is not new. However, what’s new is that two new analysts have come forward to tackle Swoopes while Clark stays mum about the situation. Nancy Lieberman and Stephen A. Smith have time and again spoken of Clark’s importance in the Indiana Fever and Iowa Hawkeyes team while reflecting on her stats. Plus, they have also expressed their opinions against Swoopes who had called out Clark for surpassing Kelsey Plum’s all-time leading NCAA women’s basketball record in March expounding, by mistake probably, that Clark had done it in 5 years by taking an extra year of COVID eligibility whereas the record was made in 4 by Plum. However, the talk did not go down well with Swoopes and the matter has escalated so much that Swoopes is calling out Smith and Lieberman for threatening her.

“@stephenasmith @NancyLieberman this guy just called me and threatened me. Not sure how he got my number. But this what y’all wanna do? His number is 813.679.7695,” Swoopes tweeted on the social media platform X.

Lieberman recollected calling Swoopes after Clark had surpassed Pete Maravich as the all-time NCAA D1 leading scorer in March this year. And according to Lieberman, she had confronted Swoopes for calling Clark’s record illegitimate. “You know, there was this quote by Sheryl that said ‘Caitlin was 25 years old, she was a fifth-year senior, she was taking 40 shots a game, her record was illegitimate,” Lieberman had stated. However, Swoopes denied all the talk explaining that Lieberman never called her and now with the latest tweet on X Swoopes is accusing Smith of threatening her.

Previously too when Lieberman had claimed on the Stephen A. Smith show that she had called Swoopes after the controversy, Swoopes had reacted back enumerating that she had hatched their plan. “I get what you trying to do wit ya boy @stephenasmith but it ain’t working,” Swoopes had stated before expressing that her life was good “without you too(and him).” Plus, Swoopes had recently attacked Lieberman for her statements.

Sheryl Swoopes calls out Nancy Lieberman—Who's really telling the truth in this WNBA drama?

Have an interesting take?

Swoopes in one of her tweets on Monday expressed her anger at Lieberman’s statements against Chennedy Carter. Remember the infamous Carter-Clark incident when Carter after scoring a layup had pushed Clark to the ground? Yes, that one. Lieberman in the aftermath had stated that if she was Caitlin Clark, “I(she) would’ve punched her in the face.”

So Swoopes directed her comment to Smith, who had pointed out the fallacy in Swoopes’ comments for Clark along with Lieberman and asked her to question Lieberman on her aggressive take about Carter. “@stephenasmith you forgot to ask her about this,” Swoopes expounded on X.

Hopefully, Swoopes, Lieberman, and Smith will find common ground soon. Perhaps, Clark would now come to express her take on things since she is the main point of contention.
