Tonight, the Climate Pledge Arena witnessed a heated game between the Fever and the Storm. Of course, only until the hosting Seattle got the better of the visitors. In their third meeting of the season, Caitlin Clark created yet another record. But courtesy of Jewell Loyd, the celebrations could not continue for long as Seattle won 89-77 over the Fever. Hence, the Fever fans riled up once again after the subpar performance of their players.

After tonight’s game, Caitlin Clark tallies 308 points, 104 rebounds, and 126 assists, the only player with those numbers so far. Indeed, as a rookie with all eyes on her, many would agree that this was quite a huge achievement after 19 games into the professional league. However, there were black clouds of the Storm lurking over this feat tonight. Seattle’s veteran guard, Jewell Loyd had a season-high 34 points. With this, she, almost single-handedly, pushed the hosts toward victory.

While the Fever fans would be delighted at how amazing their first overall pick is doing in her rookie season, their continuous defeats are, of course, depressing. Hence, after continuously complaining about the Fever team not catching passes from Clark and Christie Sides not utilizing the rookie to her potential, the fans are back with some more criticism.

Caitlin Clark supporters point blame at Indiana, once again

The entire Indianapolis rejoiced when they got to know that they would draft the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer. However, soon when the season kicked off, the very same happiness turned upside down with continuous losses. Keeping the faith in their rookie, the city of the sport blamed the team and the coach for not filling the shoes well. Now that the team has lost yet another game, the fans are back on the internet to play the blame game.

A WNBA follower came up to the comment section, expressing their disappointment with the head coach and the team. They suggested that the coach does not understand how to use the offensive strengths of the rookie, who once again topped the team’s scoring charts. Giving Sides a few ideas, they simply commented on the overall performance with a single word– “Bad!”

“Your coach has absolutely no clue on how to use caitlin clark. It’s sad to watch the scheme. There is no movement on the court and the screens that the fever setup up are not even screens. Before a screen is set players run away not allowing the screen to develop. Bad.”

Keeping faith in the rookie for her immaculate passing, a fan claimed that she is indeed one of the best passers in the league. However, they too were quick to mention how it is the rest of the players in Indiana who need to be efficient.

“Legit one of the best passers in the league. If only her teammates were always capable of catching those passes…..”

Another follower came up in the chat to express their frustration. They asked the team to set up their plays with Caitlin Clark in mind. Currently, the 6-ft guard, Kelsey Mitchell, Katie Lou Samuelson, and Lexie Hull have showcased their abilities to pull up a three. However, tonight, the Fever only went for 19 shots from beyond the arc, making 42.1% of them. On the other hand, Seattle went for 10 of 25. Of these, Jewell Loyd made 6 of 9 shots from the deep. This became a sore spot for this fan as they asked Indiana to make more threes.
“Yall really neeeeeeeeeeed to setup some plays for clark. Im tired of seeing this. Jewel Lloyd shot so many 3s, why can’t indiana do the same.”

One fan could not help but speak up on Kristy Wallace. The 28-year-old guard is a starter for Indiana. While she is averaging 5.6 points per game, tonight, she did not contribute anything to the team. With 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 18 minutes on the floor, this fan’s patience did not hold for long. They complained about her being on the floor because Jewell Loyd was attacking the Fever despite Wallace’s presence.
“Loyd is cookin Wallace. Why da fck is Wallace playing.”

Caitlin Clark does not have the best team is another talk of the town. However, that is the fate of every first overall and the rest of the lottery picks. Nevertheless, it did not stop a CC fan from asking Indiana to trade her away. They gave the final verdict according to them saying that the 2x NPOY deserves better teammates.

“Trade her pls, she need better than y’all”
