Former mates will turn into foes when Team USA will face Germany on Sunday. Yes, Sataou Sabally and Sabrina Ionescu, the duo who shared the court playing for Oregon Ducks will lock horns in the Olympic showdown. Well, it doesn’t bring much difference to their bond, as Ionescu has a short, cute message for Sabally before the game.

Sabally posted a snippet on her X account where she was asked to pick one between the two USA players. Tweeting the video, she wrote, “Pls I need reasonable comments on my picks.” Interestingly, Sabally chose her former teammate Ionescu in all the pair of choices her name was present. A day later, Ionescu replied to that post, as she wrote, “My girly.”

Sabally decided to pick Ionescu over the most experienced name on the USA roster, Diana Taurasi, which shows how much admiration she has for her college time teammate. Both of them used to pair up and were considered the dynamic duo for the Oregon Ducks between 2017 and 2019.

While the close friends had a cute wholesome moment over the internet, they will be aiming to give it all for their countries when they step on the court to play against each other on August 4. Let’s take a look at how effective Sabally and Ionescu have been for their respective teams in their Olympic debut so far.
