The Sabrina 2s are expected to be out globally by the end of June. The sneakers have already captured the hearts of their fans as they wait for the release. Considering the impact Sabrina Ionescu has had on basketball, the shoes will surely hit block-buster numbers and will be out of stock within a few hours. But what makes Sabrina 2 different from their first counterpart is not just design but the hard work of Ionescu herself.
As per reputed journalist Nick DePaula, Ionescu has contributed a lot this time and is looking forward to the success of Sabrina 2. While during her previous collaboration with Nike, she was present on Zoom, this time around Ionescu has taken real-time feedback and discussed all the design points with Nike which has helped shape the shoe in a proper way.
The shoe has a foam base which helps protect the ankles while dunking. It also has air zoom cushioning and a bent-over design to improve the speed of the athlete. Therefore, these shoes are extremely valuable to budding and current basketball stars. Even designer Ben Nethongkome thanked Ionescu for being open to conversing about the product which also sped up the process. “The second time around, we got quicker at finding solutions that work for her. Sabrina was also feeling a lot more comfortable to provide honest feedback, so we could improve the product.”

As per Ionescu’s own admission, she has taken time to contemplate what worked for them last time and also surveyed the entire market including consumers and basketball athletes to shape the best shoe possible. The shoes are priced at a decent $130 and will be available in cave purple, black raspberry, violet frost, and white colors. Meanwhile, Sabrina 1s had taken over the world by storm.
Sabrina Ionescu had expressed happiness over Sabrina 1s
After its release, Sabrina 1s made waves in the sneaker circuit, so much so that even NBA players like Jrue Holiday started donning the sneakers. Holiday was followed by 77 other NBA players who wore the Sabrina 1s and hence her shoes had a lasting impact by popularizing women’s sports. Additionally, Sabrina 1s received the same love as Kobes and LeBrons.
At that time too, Ionescu was proud of how her sneaker line fared and emphasized that it was purely a sneaker line and did not depend on being for men or women. “Not a women’s basketball shoe or a men’s basketball shoe, but just basketball,” Ionescu had remarked then.
