While Sabrina Ionescu plied her trade as a point guard for the Oregon Ducks women?s basketball team, Clark plays for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the same position. Though Sabrina was drafted into the WNBA in 2020, Clark still remains at the college level.

Ionescu had signed a deal with Nike worth 24 million dollars to have a shoe by the name of Nike Sabrina 1s. This took her to the league of greats such as the NBA legend Michael Jordan who also had a shoe series by his name – Nike Air Jordan. Meanwhile, Caitlin though a college basketball player is not far behind as one of the earliest deals of the 21-year-old was with Nike. She had signed alongside youngsters – Haley Jones and Bronny James in 2022.

Two other similar deals signed by both Ionescu and Clark are the deals with Statefarm and their colleges. Clark became the first college athlete to join hands with the insurance company as she became a spokesperson for Statefarm alongside NBA stars Patrick Mahomes and Chris Paul. Similarly, Ionescu has also signalled her collaboration with State Farm when she appeared in one of the advertisements along Chris Paul.

The New York Liberty star and the Iowa Hawkeyes prodigy have also signed deals with colleges. While Ionescu is the chief athlete officer for a company launched by Oregon alumni and donors – Division Street, Clark also penned a summer deal with Iowa Cubs. She also had a bobblehead designed around her personality as a theme.
Thus, Clark is definitely following in the footsteps of Ionescu, and as per the ESPN mock draft the Indiana Fevers have the top possibility of picking the Caitlin Clark as the no.1 pick in draft.
