The 2023 WNBA season came to a spectacular end last night as the Las Vegas Aces triumphed over the NY Liberty in a thrilling match in Brooklyn. Sabrina Ionescu’s late comeback effort wasn’t enough to prevent the Liberty from losing as their 70-69 loss, crowned the Aces as double champs for the first time in franchise history. While the Liberty took home another loss in the Finals, with this being their fifth (most of any franchise) the Aces continue to build a lasting dynasty with A’ja Wilson leading the charge. The 27-year-old has been a huge influence for the Aces and played a key role in the finals this year as she won the Finals MVP award for her exploits.

The honor holds much more gravitas now as A’ja lost the regular season MVP award to Breanna Stewart and was shockingly voted 4th in the rankings as she averaged a career high of 22.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. This omission was brought up by Becky Hammon and the Aces during their post-match press conference last night as Wilson’s teammates hilariously ‘hunted’ her fourth-place MVP voter.

The Las Vegas Aces’ celebrations carried on into to the post match press conference last night as A’ja Wilson, Alysha Clark and Becky Hammon were questioned by the media. While the trio spoke on various topics together Clark had a sneaky question for the journalists in the room as she stated, “I have a question for all of you in here. Who voted A’ja 4th place for MVP?”

The hilarious question riled up the Aces’ team who were present in the room and even prompted coach Becky Hammon to lead the line and instigate the question further as she referenced rapper Eminem stating, “Own it, step forward. Will the real slim shady please stand up?”? ??

A’ja Wilson couldn’t’ help but crack a smile before jokingly trying to dismiss Clark’s question as she asked another reporter to continue with her question averring, “Casandra please go with your question we not worried about that.”
