There is no question that the Aces kingpin A’ja Wilson rules the hearts of passionate basketball fans. The two-time WNBA champion has been an ambassador of women’s basketball ever since she stepped onto the court for South Carolina way back in 2015. Following this, she has set a legion of accolades throughout her illustrious career.

While she gave herself the title of ‘Queen of Mediocre’ in her latest book Dear Black Girls: How to Be True to You, the renowned basketball program of Howard University recognises her as the ‘Queen of the Court’.

The university in Washington DC, Howard recently shared a very special post involving the Las Vegas Ace. The post features a picture of A’ja along with an inscription “QUEEN OF THE COURT.” In addition to this, there is a caption honoring A’ja for her various accomplishments. The caption reads, “We are extremely happy to give Ms. A’ja Wilson the title of our Queen of the Court.”

Seemingly, the list of A’ja’s impeccable accolades is quite lengthy. She has made the best out of her abilities and has been at the top of her game. Consequently, this has resulted in her getting all this acknowledgment. The post further reads, “Reigning on and off the court from NCAA triumphs to WNBA MVP and Olympic Gold, A’ja Wilson stands as the epitome of basketball greatness. This queen continues to redefine what it means to rule the court.”

Meanwhile, even after so many honors and accomplishments, there is still one question unanswered. Evidently, many still wonder why she considers herself the ‘Queen of Mediocre.’

The WNBA Finals MVP A’ja Wilson opened up on her remarks of herself in a recent interview. She said, “I wasn’t always a champion. In the book, I tell my story so that young people know that you don’t come out of the womb perfect. You have times where you are going to face adversity, but you can always get to where you want to get to. You learn yourself and learn to love yourself, and that’s how I went from mediocre to wanting to be great.”

Undeniably, the kind of impact that A’ja Wilson has left on Women’s basketball is truly commendable. Her determination and will to win have made her an iconic figure in the professional world of WNBA.
