There’s no doubt that Angel Reese’s podcast is popping! The WNBA All-Star has had a plethora of high-profile guests and a bunch of viral episodes. However, she just managed to accomplish something incredible through the show–DiJonai Carrington has just signed with Reebok!
Reebok basketball has been on the uptick over the last few years, with Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal as their president of basketball ops. However, it really took off in the WNBA when superstar Angel Reese signed with the company! There’s no questioning the star power that the Chicago Sky rookie commands, but it was just her to begin with.
However, it looks like Reese is truly loyal to the brand! Carrington’s signing is a huge boost to the company. The Dallas Wings star, and WNBA MIP, has signed a multi-year contract to support Reebok on various brand activations, and to spotlight the brand’s performance and lifestyle offerings!

Reebok’s WNBA ascent isn’t accidental—it’s a calculated push led by Shaquille O’Neal, who signed Angel Reese as his first major client in October 2023. Since then, Reese has launched her own Reebok collection and is set to debut a signature shoe in 2026, cementing her as the brand’s cornerstone.
Her success paved the way for DiJonai Carrington’s deal, announced on April 3, 2025, as Reebok doubles down on its WNBA investment. The brand’s multi-year partnership with the WNBA, inked in December 2024, designates it as an authorized footwear supplier starting in 2025.
Carrington’s signing—alongside Reese and LA Sparks guard Lexie Brown—signals an aggressive roster-building strategy. With O’Neal at the helm, Reebok is leveraging stars like Reese to attract talents like Carrington, who will sport the Reebok Engine A in the upcoming season.
But what’s interesting to note is that she’s not the first Carrington to sign with Reebok. “I’m excited to continue the family legacy and join the Reebok Basketball roster.” She said, referencing her dad who was an NFL safety for about eight seasons, and was a proud member of the Reebok family.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Angel Reese the key to Reebok's resurgence in basketball, or is it just good timing?
Have an interesting take?
DiJonai Carrington absolutely killed it in the 2023-24 season, jumping up to 12.7 points per game, 5 rebounds, and about 1.5 assists and steals a game on about 40% from the field. Her efforts won her the Most Improved Player award, as well as a place in the All-Defensive First Team! An endorsement deal for her has been a long time coming. Not to mention, the Wings star has quite a strong opinion on endorsements in the WNBA and the NCAA!

In today’s day and age, there’s an argument to be made that collegiate stars are earning more than professionals. With NIL deals at an all-time high, and transfer portal shenanigans aplenty, some student athletes turn into millionaires before even graduating from college!

For example, top athletes like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese accumulated a total of about $5 million through their college careers. And with more and more talented players on the come up, and national programs expanding their pockets, there’s no doubt that they will stand to earn a lot more!

So with amateur athletes earning so much, WNBA professionals sometimes end up getting agitated. However, Carrington has a different view on the situation. “This $$$ narrative with the W vs NCAA is sooooooo tired 😩 YES(!!!) we should (and WILL) get paid much higher salaries BUT you can still make that same $$, it’s just no longer called NIL money … it’s called ✨ endorsements ✨🙂”*sent with love*.” She said in a recent tweet, clarifying the difference. According to her, it doesn’t make sense to drive the two platforms against each other. And it makes sense! NIL deals are a form of endorsements, allowing student-athletes to profit from their images, not a salary.

With CBA negotiations ongoing, WNBA stars are supposed to get their fair share soon enough! Which is also the reason why most free-agents are only committing to one-year deals right now. They stand to make a lot more soon, and can’t wait to cash out.
