The NCAA rivalry turned WNBA clash truly fulfilled the expectations. Angel Reese, Kamila Cardoso, and Caitlin Clark went neck-to-neck until the Indiana Fever finally got over the line for only their second win this season. Despite the loss, the Chi-Town Barbie tried to show her love for the Windy City. However, while her intentions were quite adorable, the angry fans did not like what she did on the court against her 2023 NCAA Championship game foe.

Hours after the game ended, Angel Reese posted a tweet showing how much she loves Chicago. She wrote, “i love me some chicago like they show me soooo much love.” Surely, this city loves great hoopers. Teresa Weatherspoon too approved the same in Reese’s introductory press conference. They also have welcomed the Bayou Barbie with arms wide open. The love has sometimes turned into “crazy” interaction with the fans as well. But was this post about how her team followed suit and fueled the fire of rivalry between Caitlin Clark and her?

If it was, we wouldn’t know. This also will not be the first time that Reese took a shot at Clark. After the Sky’s previous win, Reese tweeted how their team won without depending on one player. While the tweet is now deleted, the fans did have divided reactions to it. Something similar happened this time around as well.

Angel Reese catches mixed reactions to her Chicago love

Reese has openly spoken about how much she loves her new home. However, this time, that same appreciation has taken a U-turn and hit her instead. Today’s game was a lot of drama for the basketball world. With Caitlin Clark being at the center of it all, it was not taken in a lot of positive light. An X user showed their disappointment in the Chi-Town Barbie as they sided with what Charles Barkley had previously mentioned.

While the NBA legend got a response from almost everyone that the narrative of hating Clark is a lie, this basketball follower clearly seems to agree with Chuck. They accused Angel Reese of being jealous of the Fever rookie and asked her to get counseling for a solution. “You should seek counseling for your petty jealousy of Caitlyn Clark”

One basketball follower called Angel Reese out for applauding Chennedy Carter from the bench when she shoved Caitlin Clark to the floor in the third quarter. While it may be the passion for the sport, the fan still asked her not to celebrate in such instances. “Don’t celebrate your teammate’s cheap shot.”

Another basketball follower also shared the same thought and called out the 6-ft-3 hooper to keep a check on what she cheers for. In fact, seems like they are from the Windy City itself as they also asked the Baltimore native to show Chicago some respect and class.

“Then show Chicago some class and don’t celebrate cheap shots.”

Adding more criticism was another Angel Reese fan who blessed the hooper and called her a queen. They also gave her a compliment calling her better than her behavior on the floor tonight. However, the first thing they did was call Weatherspoon’s rookie flagrant.

“Nahhh you flagrant for what you were doing on the court today! I know you’re better and higher than that. Just play ball queen. Stay blessed”

Amongst the many haters were admirers of the former Lady Tiger. A Chicago native spoke up on how great the city is and how they love to support and protect their stars. Surely, many legends have inked their name in gold in the Windy City like none other than the Chicago Bulls legend– Michael Jordan. The fan showed their delight in having the NCAA star Angel Reese in their town and assured her that the team would never go against her.

The season has just started and there is a long way to go. It will be interesting to watch how these rookies grow in the league and if the fans’ wishes for them to become legends really come true.
