Indiana Fever is not performing as expected. Despite having the WNBA draft No. 1 pick, the Fever stands with 10 losses and 3 wins in the last 13 games. While every player on the roster is equally responsible for the underperformance, the Fever’s rookie has been constantly targeted for not being a savior for the team. But Carmelo Anthony has something to add here.
In a recent podcast, Anthony discussed the current situation of Indiana Fever. “People not watching Indiana Fever. In, in, in a sense, not watching, but following them all the way through the whole process,” Anthony said on 7 PM Brooklyn with Melo and Mero.
Fever’s rookie Clark has been going through a lot these days, and this somehow is impacting her play. In the last matchup against Sun, she performed below her standards. She finished off with just 10 points with two assists. Not only this, but she even failed to secure a single rebound which fueled conversations around her.

Despite the Fever’s underperformance, their matchups have been sold out. In their last matchup against the Connecticut Sun, which was also sold out, the Fever lost to the opponent 89-72. This happened after the Fever maintained a lead of 28 points during the game. But the question is: why are their games sold out then?
Clark’s unparalleled impact on WNBA
Fever’s star is coming up with a lot of fandom. “They care enough to type thousands of emails to me,” the WNBA commissioner Engelbert told USA Today with a laugh. Clark, unlike others, is struggling to fit into the WNBA. Until now, she has been snubbed from the USA’s roster going to the 2024 Paris Olympics and has endured a Flagrant 1 foul by Chennedy Carter.

Not only this but in a recent matchup against the Sun, she was mocked by DiJonai Carrington after a foul. “I think everybody’s watching Caitlin, so they’re focused only on Caitlin. But, when you look across other games (with) other players, it’s a physical game. There’s no doubt about it,” Engelbert further added..

As of now, Clark averages 16.3 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.9 rebounds. Even though all these stats are impressive, Clark needs to review her game. Especially fouls, as she was benched due to four fouls within 22 minutes. Now, the team is gearing up for an upcoming matchup against the Atlanta Dream today. will the Fever be able to make a stronger comeback?
