It feels like yesterday when Angel Reese did a photo shoot for Sports Illustrated in a purple bikini, making her the national crush in 2023. Suddenly, the then-Lady Tiger gathered a lot of eyes that eventually also opened the doors for modeling for brands and getting invitations to high-profile events such as Victoria’s Secret. And now a fellow athlete and rival, Cameron Brink, is set to follow the path set by the Chi-Town Barbie, and who knows maybe topple her in her own game.
According to the latest news, the LA Sparks star will face the lens for the SI photoshoot this year. For the swimsuit shoot, Brink will step onto the exquisite beach in Boca Raton, Fla., and lighten up the photographer Ben Horton’s passion project. The snaps from the same will be printed in the 2025 issue.
That will be one of the most cherished moments for Brink as she had previously expressed her wish to collaborate with SI during an episode of Podcast P With Paul George this year.

“I’ve always loved SI Swimsuit. I think it’s super empowering.,” Brink had stated. The 22-year-old had also shown her love for fashion when she got to her first fashion week stint this year for Balenciaga in Paris. “My love of fashion and basketball has helped me tap into both sides of myself,” Brink had stated.
Not many know that fashion is something deeply rooted in her identity. With basketball and fashion, the Stanford alum is able to explore different sides of her personality. “The older I get, I realize that dressing more femininely, away from basketball, is truly the best escape,” she stated.
“We are thrilled to launch our shoot season for the 2025 issue with an extraordinary lineup of powerful female athletes. This remarkable group, featuring Olympic medalists, world champions, and record holders, embodies the next generation of All-Stars poised to transform the world of sports. They defy stereotypes and champion equality, inspiring young girls to envision themselves as both athletes and leaders,” editor-in-chief MJ Day of SI Swimsuit reflected while announcing the photoshoot.
The shoot will feature other athletes namely Suni Lee, Gabby Thomas, Jordan Chiles, and Eileen Gu to celebrate women athletes, and the same message was enunciated by Day.
“At SI Swimsuit, we’ve always celebrated the future of women, and there’s no better way to honor these remarkable achievements than by featuring them on the pages of our issue,” Day concluded. For the debut shoot, the Princeton-born had worn a white bikini. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen how Reese would react to this who seemingly has supported Brink throughout the WNBA season.

Angel Reese’s SI photoshoot
2023. Angel Reese had recently won the NCAA Championship and was offered a photo shoot for the SI swimsuit edition, in which she had to pose for Yu Tsai in Los Angeles. According to SI’s statement, “Bold styling was inspired by the art-deco style house that served as the setting for the shoot.”
In the released pictures, Reese was seen donning a purple bikini, the same color as that of her college. Other than that she was also wearing multi-color bikinis, bi-color bodycon, and a red color one-piece. To sum it up, the photo shoot was a fest for fashion enthusiasts.

In one of the pictures donning a purple bikini, she had also pointed her ring finger, as if rejoicing the fact that she was fresh off from winning NCAA season. And with this, she also has an answer to her critics who had slammed her after she had pointed to her ring finger during the Finale against Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes. Certainly, the Maryland-born continued to stay unapologetic.
And it remains to be seen if Brink, who had a season-ending injury and couldn’t reach her potential in the rookie year will have any iconic message for her fans or critics. Till then, we can only wish that the LA Sparks’ apple of the eye enchants the nation with her beauty.
