We’re just one day away from the moment fans have been craving since September– To watch Caitlin Clark back on the court. The Indiana Fever are set to face the Washington Mystics in their first preseason game, and the buzz is unreal. Clark hasn’t hooped in months, and the anticipation is boiling over. Her latest Instagram posts gave fans a little tease– a new look, and that familiar fire in her eyes. But one thing really caught everyone’s eye—Clark has clearly bulked up. It’s the kind of transformation that screams hard work.
All offseason, Caitlin Clark kept a low profile on the court. Instead, she was spotted courtside at volleyball matches, NCAA games, NBA showdowns, and even teeing off on the golf course. But every time she showed up, the internet lost it. Remember that viral shot by Bri Lewerke during the Big Ten tourney? Clark was just cheering on Iowa, but everyone was too busy zooming in on her arms. Those biceps stole the show! Clark definitely put in extra hours in the gym!
“That was my biggest focus in the offseason, just trying to get stronger and really working on that,” Caitlin Clark said in a recent interview. “I knew (strength) was going to be a huge part of it, and it’s going to help me offensively, it’s going to help me defensively, it’s going to help me not get as tired throughout games. So yeah, definitely one of the focus points of my offseason is just getting stronger.”

Caitlin Clark and co make big off-season moves
The last time the Indiana Fever sat at the top? It was 2012–led by the iconic Tamika Catchings. Since then, it’s been a long, frustrating climb back to relevance. But this year? This year feels different. The front office clearly meant business. They filled in the gaps from last season–bringing in veteran experience and shoring up the frontcourt to support the electric backcourt duo of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell. And yes, they finally have depth. So no more 40-minute nights for Clark (hopefully).

“The Fever added champions like DeWanna Bonner, a two-time WNBA title winner, and Natasha Howard, a three-time champ and 2019 Defensive Player of the Year, to bolster their roster. These additions aim to provide Caitlin Clark, entering her second season, with the support needed for a deep playoff run. ESPN BET lists Indiana at +350 odds to win the 2025 Finals, tied for the second-best odds in the league.
Indiana landed some major names this offseason: DeWanna Bonner, Sydney Colson, Sophie Cunningham, and Natasha Howard. But it’s Bonner and Howard who shine brightest. Champions. Leaders. Proven winners. Exactly what you need when you’re chasing a title. And new head coach Stephanie White was absolutely thrilled about the new additions.

Clark’s just as hyped. “I think that we play basketball the right way,” she said. “We love playing in front of our fans. We’re building a championship-winning team. We’re excited about it, we’re excited about all the pieces we’ve added, a great coaching staff, and we’re fired up and working hard. I think we play basketball the right way and give our fans a lot to cheer about. Also, we love our teammates and work really hard.”
Now, it’s all about putting in the work. Training camp. Chemistry. Execution. The Fever have the pieces—they just need to put it all together when it counts. Caitlin Clark finally has the squad around her to chase greatness. And if everything clicks? Watch out. This season could be special. Stay tuned.
