Even with her remarkable accomplishments, Kelsey Plum hasn’t shied away from speaking out on crucial WNBA concerns. She made a major contribution to fostering the next wave of basketball talent by establishing the Dawg Class Camp through Under Armour. Plum also called out the league’s commissioner as the WNBA players were having a hard time getting their hands on the 2023 WNBA All-Star Game.
“ALL WNBA players should get a ticket to the all star game/skills challenge, I’m sick of my people being treated second class,” she wrote, “The league gotta be better, there is no excuse. @CathyEngelbert I’m sure we can fix this before the weekend….”

Months after calling out the WNBA commissioner, Kelsey Plum recently appeared on the podcast, All The Smoke where she addressed the changes that the WNBA needs to make. She jokingly remarked, “Oh gosh, how much time we got?”

“You know I’m not here to b***h,” said Plum, “I would say that I feel like everything rises and falls on leadership. And so, when you have the right people making the right decisions that represent the body of players that you have, good things will happen.”
Plum continued, “And until that happens, you’ll see what you see which is a secondary product. And it’s not on the court. It’s everything else that comes into that and so you know we’re working to make changes, but it takes time. And I understand that change isn’t overnight but man like we know that the game has come a long way, but we do have a long way to go.”
