In the journey of an athlete, all we see are their achievements and the highs of their life. But nobody wants to talk about behind the scenes, about the struggles they have to face to reach such a level. Athletes build themselves to face any opponent during their matches, but nobody is prepared to face the mental challenges that they have to face from haters, media, and many more.

In a recent interview, a WNBA legend talked about the inequalities she has to face while playing as a mother of two children.?

Candace Parker is one of the most respected and well-known athletes in the world of WNBA. In the 2008, she was selected as the first overall pick by the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA draft. Since then, she has had two kids, a daughter and recently a son. In a recent interview, Parker talked about the inequalities she has to face while playing as a mother.

During the interview, Parker said, ?The thing about entering your motherhood that I experienced, that very few male athletes probably experienced, is when I?m on the road, away from my kids. They?re like, ?Who?s taking care of your daughter?? I?m like nobody has asked him (LeBron), who’s taking care of Bronny??

?So, it?s this level of the difference at which we put, female athletes,? Parker further added. Her words highlight the need of the hour in the women?s leagues and the unfair treatment that they have to face, which should be focused on immediately and create a safe space for all athletes.

As we move forward, we hope that conversations like these leads to a better future, where all athletes are treated fairly regardless of their gender.
