Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier struck a jackpot when WNBA rookie Angel Reese announced her arrival at their unrivaled league. After Reese’s signing, fans were expecting that it wouldn’t be long before her WNBA rival Caitlin Clark would ink a deal with the 3*3 league. However, contrary to everyone’s expectations, Clark doesn’t seem moved by the concept of the league and dropped hints of not joining the cash-rich event for now, which also might strand her net worth at $5 million.

Clark was present during an Indiana Fever practice session on Tuesday when she interacted with the media. On being questioned about joining the much-hyped Unirvaled League, Clark remarked that she wanted to focus on one thing at a time. “I’m just focused on this right now, one thing at a time,” Clark stated. Meanwhile, the case was completely opposite for Angel Reese.

19 days ago, on July 24th, Reese announced that she would be plying her trade for the league, which is supposed to start in January. Unrivaled put out a post with an animated Reese on it with the caption “305 Barbie.” Fans who have been following Reese for quite some time would know that she likes being called Barbie. Though till now it’s not clear if she will have an ownership stake in the league, nonetheless, one thing is clear: she will likely bring a lot of fans to the new league.

Therefore, after Reese’s joining, as mentioned before, Clark was also expected to take part in the league. This was a good way for her to increase her net worth since the league would provide an earning option for its stars, and if rumors are to be believed, then every player would earn six digits. Plus, if Clark had taken the ownership stake in the league much like her NCAA opponent Paige Bueckers, she would have increased her net worth above $5 million. But as of now, Clark looks in no mood to do that. Meanwhile, Reese just a few days ago gave her reasons for joining the league.

Angel Reese shares her take on joining Unrivaled

During a media interaction on Thursday, Reese expounded that the main reason for joining Unrivaled was because she didn’t want to leave the country in the off-season. For the record, WNBA players during the off-season go to international leagues to ply their trade and earn some additional money. The Unrivaled, which will be played in Miami, will help the athletes stay close to home. “Nobody wants to go overseas. A lot of us never want to have to go overseas, but some people do have to go overseas unfortunately, so being able to make six figures within three months, being able to be housed in Miami, just being able to get better,” Reese enunciated.
