However, amidst all this excitement, a recent decision by a veteran footballer to prioritize a modeling influencer has caused consternation among some of his fellow players.

Lexie Brown and a 31-year-old guard for the Mystics have been particularly vocal in their disappointment. The two WNBA stars criticized the 55-year-old veteran for featuring a model in his recent interview.

Lexie Brown, or Alexis Kiah Brown, is a guard for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association. She has previously played for the Chicago Sky, Minnesota Lynx and the Connecticut Sun. She took to Twitter to express her thoughts on a recent interview by Shannon Sharpe on the latest episode of his podcast, Club Shay Shay.

Sharpe chose to interview American model and fitness influencer, Brittany Renner.

Lexie Brown wrote on Twitter, “It?s a mid-NFL season, NBA season around the corner, WNBA playoffs, etc., and Shannon Sharpe is interviewing Brittany Renner, RN.”

To this 31-year-old Mystics guard Natasha Cloud replied that she couldn’t even get a spotlight on the show, Sports Center, while these models are getting featured on Shannon Sharpe’s show.

“That?s all I see anymore. Relationship bs. I can?t even get a highlight on the sports center anymore,”?Cloud wrote.

Sharpe is also known for his post-game antics and has been a spokesperson for various products. He gained media experience from his seven-year-long stint on Undisputed, where he collaborated with Skip Bayless. Recently, he left the show and joined ESPN‘s First Take.

It is understandable why this decision has raised eyebrows. Sports fans expect their athletes to be focused on their craft and committed to the teams they represent. When they appear to prioritize other pursuits, it can lead to questions about their dedication and professionalism.
