WNBA star Caitlin Clark has made it pretty clear. Her heart lies with both Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs. But, honestly, her fangirl mode at Swift’s concerts has established her as leaning slightly more toward Team Taylor. So, with Swift’s massive “Eras Tour” officially wrapping up in Vancouver, Clark found the perfect way to balance the bittersweet ending, cheering on her childhood favorite Chiefs.

Sunday night was a big one. On the same day, Swift closed out her history-making tour in Vancouver, the Kansas City Chiefs pulled off a nail-biting 19-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. It was their ninth straight AFC West title. Even without Swift in the stands, Travis Kelce played a key role, helping the Chiefs lock down the clock in those final minutes.

Clark shared a perfectly-timed tweet, writing, “Bank is open … CHIEFSSSSSSSSSSS.”

With Swift wrapping up her “Eras,” Clark’s football faves seem to have taken center stage—for now, at least. And the game was certainly a must-watch show. The Chiefs survived a nail-biter to extend their dominance.

Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs on a 4.5-minute clock-killing drive to set up Matthew Wright’s game-winning 31-yard field goal. The Chiefs’ defense came up to their rescue. But it was anything but easy. The Chargers were down 13-0 at halftime but fought back in the second half. Ultimately, Mahomes and Kelce teamed up to ensure the Chiefs secured their win.

Now, you know why Caitlin Clark couldn’t resist cheering for her favorites. But we just know that if given a chance, she would turn all her attention to Kelce’s pop star girlfriend within a heartbeat. Just a few months ago, the 2024 ROTY was front and center at Swift’s concert, attending the Eras Tour show in Indianapolis for two consecutive nights.

Her excitement was through the roof, as she posted on Instagram with the caption, “We are so back.” Fans were buzzing, considering she isn’t active on social media as much. But that day seemed like an exception, with all the spam. But that wasn’t the first time she showed her affection to the All Too Well singer.

When the pop star publicly supported Kelce in 2023, she welcomed Taylor to #ChiefsKingdom. And, by the way, the day was also special for Travis Kelce, as he made history with a record he’s clearly proud of.

Travis Kelce Breaks NFL record as Caitlin Clark celebrates Chiefs win

Travis Kelce added a monumental milestone to his legendary career, becoming the fastest tight end in NFL history to reach 12,000 career receiving yards. He did it in just 172 games, shattering Tony Gonzalez’s previous record of 210 games.

The big moment came late in the third quarter when Kelce snagged his fourth catch of the night—a seven-yarder that pushed him over the 12,000 mark. By the end of the game, he had racked up 45 receiving yards, including a clutch nine-yard grab on third-and-7.

This secured his spot in the history books. The NFL couldn’t help but celebrate, posting on X: “Travis Kelce is the fastest TE in NFL History (172 games) to reach 12,000 career receiving yards.” But it wasn’t just Kelce making history.

While he was breaking records in Kansas City, Taylor Swift was busy doing the same in Vancouver, wrapping up her Eras Tour. Just about 30 minutes after Kelce’s milestone catch, Swift took the stage, marking the end of what’s officially the highest-grossing tour in music history. It’s like a full-circle moment. One of the greatest in women’s basketball, cheering on two of the greatest in their fields. Truly wholesome!
