New York is her home, but would she leave it for a better team? The 2025 WNBA free agency frenzy is in full swing, and the deals are coming in hot! A reported three-team blockbuster is set to shake up the league, with Kelsey Plum heading to the Los Angeles Sparks and Jewell Loyd landing with the Las Vegas Aces. But the biggest name still in the market is none other than Breanna Stewart herself!
Fresh off her third championship, another First Team All-WNBA nod, and a top-three MVP finish for the fifth year in a row, Stewart’s still at the peak of her game and currently enjoying a fruitful season in her co-founded league Unrivaled! But did she just drop a very LA vibe?
Taking it to her X account, the reigning champion tweeted, “🤑😈👽🤳🦣🥑🏝⏳❄️🧶” last night. Concluding from the emojis, some of them hint that she just might be hinting at The City of Angels. The avocado…the beach…or even the alien with the ongoing UFO sightings…certainly LA. Maybe? Possibly?

The Liberty star’s social media activities sent Liberty fans into a frenzy, first sparking fears of her departure. But now, the narrative has flipped! Fans are buzzing with excitement, believing Stewie just dropped a major hint about Satou Sabally joining New York!
The Indiana Fever fans were initially hopeful she should join forces with Caitlin Clark before The Athletic reporter Sabreena Merchant squashed those rumors by saying, “It’s risky to trade for Sabally (to Indiana) for one season, and talk around the league is that Indiana is not one of Sabally’s preferred markets. If I were in the Fever front office, I would still offer Lexie Hull, NaLyssa Smith and a pick for Sabally, but I would understand the reticence.”
Reports have now started linking Satou Sabally to the New York Liberty, and for good reason! A reunion with her college teammate, with whom she almost won the National championship if not for COVID-19, Sabrina Ionescu seems like a dream scenario, but the real incentive? She’d also get to team up with her sister, Nyara Sabally.
The thought of watching Breanna Sabrina and Satou together already has fans dreaming big as the next season’s title defense seems to have gotten a big boost!
