The Indiana Fever has been really busy during the off-season! The WNBA franchise has set its eyes on the prize as it prepares a great supporting cast around its superstar, Caitlin Clark. Following their exit from last season’s playoffs Fever have been in revamp mode. From Changing their head coach to making trade moves.

However, the WNBA rookie of the year has set a “goal” for herself to help the Fever. Clark wants to recruit a special player to Indianapolis. WNBA journalist, Rachel Annamarie DeMita played a clip of Clark talking in an interview. Where the Fever star admitted that she at some point in her career would like to team up with former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate, Kate Martin! “But now she’s getting a little more run and getting to play and playing free,” said Clark in the interview.

I think people are just seeing her confidence grow. Like I said, I’m really happy for her, and hopefully, I can recruit her to the Fever somehow, some way one day. Who knows? I’m going to try and figure that out. It’s my goal at some point in my career to team up with Kate again.” Clark and Martin shared the court together at Iowa for four years. Together the duo led the Hawkeyes to back-to-back national championships, failing to cross the final obstacle in both. After that, both hoopers went on their own endeavors with Caitlin heading to Indiana and Kate to Las Vegas.

Now, Martin suits up for the Golden State Valkyries after the expansion draft. DeMita noted, “Caitlin planted the seed a little bit because if anybody’s going to have the pool of who they want to play with and kind of pushing the organization to make sure that they get a certain player there it’s going to be Caitlin.” While Clark would love to have Martin along her side a reunion in the near future doesn’t seem likely. However, if someone can pull it off it’s the Fever superstar.
