It had been five days and two matchups since Saturday’s Clark-Carter incident. While many argued that Chennedy Carter engaged in a deliberate attempt to throw herself into Caitlin Clark, whose back was turned to her, the fiasco has gained traction with varying narratives. During the interview on ‘Run it Back’, Lieberman said, “If I were Caitlin Clark, I would have punched her in the face. The Hall of Famer, Lieberman, has known Carter since her teenage days, offering her a wider lens to look at Carter’s recent controversial move. However, Lieberman is not just agitated at Carter for what she did in Saturday’s matchup.

Moving on, she quite openly criticized Clark’s teammates for neither lending a helping hand nor defending her after the incident. She said, “She’s gonna come after because she’s very physical, which is okay. But damn, where are Caitlin Clark’s teammates? I would be pissed and upset at my teammates; nobody came to my defense.

She added, “I mean honestly, it’s just bullsh*t. This has to be better. Indiana has to be better. Somebody has to come to these kids,” making it clear that Indiana Fever needs to improve on communication and teamwork. Not only this, but she also said, “In 1994, Jordan came into the league; he changed the economics of the league financially with GLA with all the TV contracts. He was on TV every game…People must look at Caitlin Clark for being that generational athlete that is making them wealthy,” to emphasize her point further.

Undeniably, Caitlin Clark is one of the most influential personalities entering the WNBA in the last 28 years. Considering her presence and viewership dynamics, observers have even calculated her as a turning point for the WNBA. Yet, Indiana Fever isn’t available to defend her when she needs it. Do you agree?
