Dramas and rivalries are the blood and fuel of the leagues and the matches. A glimpse of this was seen after the Las Vegas Aces secured flawless victory against the New York Liberty in Game 4 of WNBA Championship. Both the teams were seen going at it again during the post-conferences. But the Aces star Kelsey Plum finally decided to cut the drama after Jonquel Jones of the Liberty called her “classless.”

This came after The Aces bounced back from the Game 3 defeat. In the heat of the moment, some words were exchanged before Plum played a pacifist.

During an interview with Yahoo Sports on Thursday, Kelsey Plum said, “I think we knew we hadn’t played our best basketball. We also knew that, as much as they’re a team, they’re not a team, if that makes sense. They’re really good individual players, but they don’t care about each other. And you can tell in those moments. They revert back to individual basketball.”

Her comments had the New York Liberty players furious. In reply to Plum’s statement, Jonquel Jones said, “I think it’s easy to kick people when they’re down and you’re up, and honestly to me, it felt classless… you could celebrate with your team, and instead you chose to essentially shit on someone else.”

But now, Plum took to X to cut the drama out and move on in peace. In her post, she said, “Since the media wants to do click bait, imma cut this drama out right now so we can move on and be in peace. What I said was taken extremely out of context. I was trying to articulate my teammates and I have been through a lot and we used our bond to get over the hump.”

Fans and basketball enthusiasts reckon that this rivalry between both teams is only going to make the 2024 WNBA season more interesting. But many believe that it’s essential for both Kelsey Plum and Jonquel Jones to put this incident behind them and focus on their performance on the court.
