Remember Kysre Gondrezick as the basketball star who caught everyone’s eye when she was spotted with NBA champ Jaylen Brown during the Celtics’ parade? Yes, her. Well, this Saturday was a rather special one for the athlete who just turned 27 and is now as old as Brown. What further shone on this occasion was the request from her former Sky teammate, Angel Reese. The two have managed to build a close relationship in the short duration they shared playing for the ‘Windy City’.

The former WNBA player, took to her X account to mark her birthday with a cheerful post and wrote, “27 on the 27th 🎂🎈”. Gondrezick’s birthday post got flooded with well wishes from fans but one message stood out. Angel Reese just didn’t write her a birthday wish but also asked for a favor from the online crowd.

As soon as Gondrezick’s tweet was out, No. 7 WNBA Draft pick tweeted, “(somebody make me a lil edit for me to post of me & kysre of all our videos together cause it’s my pookie birthdayyyyy) 🤭 yall go tell Ky happy 27th birthday!!! @KysreRae miss you girlies🥺”.

And the close bond between the two hoopers got an even clearer picture when Gondrezick responded to the heartfelt wish within just five minutes. Replying to Reese’s demanding wish, Gondrezick wrote, “They could never make me hate you 🥹❤️”. One might wonder how these two athletes share such a deep bond. Before shaking hands with the Chicago Sky, Kysre Gondrezick played for the Indiana Fever. She was the No. 4 pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. However, her story didn’t proceed in the desired manner when an unfortunate injury sidelined her for an extended period.

After a three-year absence from the court, Kysre Gondrezick made a spirited return to the WNBA in 2024, rejoining the Chicago Sky. By then, Angel Reese was already a rookie with the team. And not sure about many, but Chi-Town Barbie was surely the one who was all excited for Gondrezick’s return. The 2023 NCAA Most Outstanding Player made her excitement loud and clear as she commented, “yesss bby!” on Gondrezick’s pre-return training post.

The two hoopers haven’t shared much of the time together as Sky waived off Gondrezick recently. However, good friendships are often made in a snap and this one is a testimony to that. Recently, Bayou Barbie once again showed her admiration for Gondrezick as she uploaded an Instagram story, complimenting her former Sky teammate on her eye-catching outfit at ESPY awards. 

Kysre Gondrezick’s debut at the ESPY Awards turned heads as she and Boston Celtics‘ star Jaylen Brown made their relationship public. Arriving together and clearly enjoying each other’s company, they sent strong signals to the audience.
