As the niece of Michael Moorer, Moorer carries a remarkable sporting heritage. She has also played as a forward on the women’s basketball team at California State University Long Beach.

Gray’s spouse attended Narbonne High School until 2008, where she began playing basketball at a young age. Her talents were recognized when she was named to the Los Angeles Times All-City First Team during her senior year. Additionally, she earned All-Marine League honors for her outstanding performance.

Her journey from the West Coast to Texas reflects a life steeped in both tradition and ambition. Currently, the Aces star’s wife holds the position of Director of Operations for the women’s basketball program at Long Beach State University (LBSU), a role she has returned to after previously serving in the same capacity following her graduation from the university.

Moorer graduated from Long Beach State with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in marketing in 2012, later earning her master’s in sports management in 2015. During her four standout seasons as a player, where she capped her senior year as the team’s top scorer with an average of 12.7 points per game, earning second-team All-Big West honors. Moorer excelled both on the court and in the classroom, being recognized three times as a Big West All-Academic selection. 

Post-graduation, Moorer expanded her basketball expertise through the School of Skills, a prominent basketball camp in Manhattan Beach, and officiated high school games with the California Basketball Officials Association. Moorer’s international experiences during her hiatus enriched her perspective before returning to join Jeff Cammon’s coaching staff.

Joining the LBSU coaching staff in the 2013-14 season after a successful playing career, Tipesa Moorer played a pivotal role in the program’s resurgence, leading to consecutive Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) appearances.

However, her relationship with Grey began as friends back in 2013, and their connection grew stronger through shared experiences and support.

Despite the geographical distance and divergent paths, Gray’s then-friend, working as Long Beach State’s director of operations, traveled to Duke University to comfort her after her injury.

This experience deepened their bond significantly, setting them on a path that culminated in their engagement in June 2018. Their friendship blossomed into romance, culminating in a picturesque wedding in Bel-Air in November 2019. They also welcomed a baby boy recently.

As newlyweds, they have focused on self-improvement and have been working together at IMG Academy.
