When Angel Reese launched her podcast “Unapologetically Angel” back in August with co-host Maya Reese, fans automatically assumed they were related. Turns out, there’s no family tie between; it was all business. Maya is a highly decorated journalist with a loaded resume, including an Emmy, herself. She was the one producing and co-hosting Angel’s show, but now, she’s decided to move on for a fresh start.

The journalist recently posted a series of pictures, including the one that clarified her identity and her connection with the Chicago Sky star.

She wrote in the caption, “Professional yapper 🗣️ had so much fun launching a new viral podcast ✔️ Grateful to have met some amazing people. Ready for whatever 2025 has otw 🤭.” When fans flooded the comments asking if she was still involved with the show, Maya made it clear. She confirmed that she had parted ways with the show and won’t be returning for the next episodes. 

When asked by fans where she had been recently, Maya humorously replied she was “chilling.” But anyone familiar with her track record knows she won’t be resting for long. Her career has been nothing short of dynamic. It looks like she has done it all. 

From producing video packages to writing articles, interviewing artists, hosting radio shows, designing graphics, and even publishing a book. Previously, she has been associated with pretty big names such as NBC Sports, Overtime, and Playmaker.

Still, it seems like she genuinely enjoyed her time producing and co-hosting Unapologetically Angel. The podcast has been a consistent source of buzz since its launch, often making headlines with revelations, controversies, or gossips. 

Fans surely miss her, and the comment section reflects it, but Maya’s departure doesn’t seem to have slowed the podcast down. There’s already another viral moment involving the Lady Tigers alumna throwing a ‘sarcastic comment.’

Angel Reese called Funny Marco a ‘short king;

One of the latest podcast highlights involved YouTuber Funny Marco as a guest. From the start, there was seamless banter between Angel and Marco, but things took a hilarious turn when Marco tried to shoot his shot. While joking about the tension between them, Angel teased him, saying he was just creating clickbait for the podcast. 

“People are going to click on that,” she said, implying that Marco’s flirting attempts would create viral headlines. The YouTuber tried to flip the script, insisting the baller was the one flirting with him, but she swiftly shut it down with, “I don’t do short kings, sorry.” 

However, it wasn’t the first time she addressed the height fatcor. She has openly talked about the importance of height in a potential partner, saying, “He’s gotta be tall. 6’7” or 6’8” at least.” As a 6’3” forward, she believes being a tall woman isn’t always easy, making height a non-negotiable factor for her.

Though her height requirements may eliminate over 90% of the American male population, she is in a profession full of tall men. That said, for now, she has confirmed she’s got no man, but we never know.
