With 2600 assists, Penicheiro ranks second in assists only behind Seattle Storm?s legend Sue Bird. Her brilliant performances propelled the Monarchs to bag the coveted title in 2005. Overall, Penicheiro averaged 4.6 points per match with a whopping 5 assists per contest and 2.9 rebounds per game during the regular season.
For her brilliance and playing style, Penicheiro is often compared to the NBA legend Magic Johnson. Johnson was a point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers who is regarded as one of the best in history. He is famous for outstanding ball control including his smooth passes usually without looking at the player.
As per the perspective, Johnson averaged a humongous 19.5 points per match with 7.2 rebounds per game and 11.2 assists per contest. Despite being tall Johnson was trusted to be a point guard and indulge in passing and hence is credited with having changed the game.
