Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend Connor McCaffery recently announced his commitment to the Butler Bulldogs as the assistant coach. While the rumors might be brushed off by many fans, this time, it shows there is indeed a smoke with fire. This means that McCaffery will leave his job of being a coaching assistant for the NBA franchise Indiana Pacers. However, this move could affect Caitlin Clark’s love life, nonetheless, the Fever rookie was all encouragement for McCaffery.

When the Bulldogs announced signing McCaffery to their program, Clark shared the creative post on her story and wrote a heartfelt message for her boyfriend, “Yayy!! so happy for you,” while tagging Connor. But it also means an increase in distance between the two.

The repercussions on their love lives include a distance between them from now onwards. Previously when McCaffery was with the Pacers, he would get time to be at the same arena as Clark since the Fever too have their playground at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Though the practice courts were different, nonetheless the distance wasn’t so much. While the Pacers practice at St. Vincent Center, the WNBA Indiana team, the Fever practice at Gainbridge only. But, fans need not be disappointed since they will be in the same city.

The Bulldogs men’s basketball team plays its home games at the Hinkle Fieldhouse which is only about 20-30 minutes away from Gainbridge where Clark will be employed. But obviously, the couple will miss each other as McCaffery was often spotted practicing his shots with Clark and the duo used to have a good time together. Nonetheless, he will be happy to join his brothers.

The McCaffery brothers- Connor, Patrick, and Jack would have the best time at the Bulldogs’ facility. For the unversed, Patrick is a cancer survivor and the younger brother to Connor, who transferred to the Bulldogs after spending five years with Iowa to make the best use of what could be his final season. Meanwhile, even Jack has committed to the Bulldogs in the class of 2025. The freshman would thus be taught the tropes of basketball by his elder brother Connor.

Have an interesting take?

Meanwhile, rumors run rife that even their father Fran McCaffery could choose the Bulldogs for his next coaching stint after leaving the Hawkeyes. Well that does sound like a hearsay as of now, but who knows? Perhaps, with the latest announcement, Clark would be a little sad but hopefully, the couple will get time to relax together since they will still be based out of the same city. And maybe the two can continue enjoying their balling sessions together, if not always, then at least sometimes.
