Could Candace Parker's return be the missing piece for the Aces' championship dreams next season?

Looks like the Las Vegas Aces might be stronger than ever next season if the rumors are answered. After failing their three-peat attempt this year, the team could use a boost from Candace Parker’s speculated return after an abrupt end to her journey. Though still a scenario for imagination, the hopes are up, thanks to Sydney Colson.

It all started after Parker’s emotional post prompted the Aces guard to ask the ‘real’ question.“Girl blah blah blah, u comin back to play next year or not?” tweeted Colson. This came after the 7× WNBA All-Star expressed her emotions regarding the loss in the Finals. “I’ve been to the finals. Won & lost ‘ships. But there is no bigger emotion than losing and listening to the other team celebrate while you are in the lockeroom,” she said.

The legend added, “I can remember the champagne, but I can FEEL the gut wrenching pain in my stomach when we fell short…..” In no time, fans rallied behind Colson with their own humorous and desperate pleas. After such an incredible career, is this really the end for Parker?

The 38-year-old announced retirement after a foot injury, finishing with 6,574 points, 3,467 rebounds, and 1,634 assists in 16 seasons. One of her best honors was being the first and only WNBA rookie to win MVP and rank in the top 10 of all those categories. Since then, she took home two more MVP titles and three championships.

Playing just 18 games with the Aces this season, the 2016 Finals MVP was candid about her physical struggles, saying her foot “isn’t cooperating.” Although her message felt like a final goodbye, the fabs are not quite ready to let go. Everyone is wondering if Parker is genuinely considering coming back for one more season.

Fans go wild over Candace Parker’s Return

What’s your perspective on:

Could Candace Parker's return be the missing piece for the Aces' championship dreams next season?

Have an interesting take?

After all, she still has “currently playing for the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces” in her social media bio. Coincidence? Doesn’t look like it. “Look at her bio… that’s enough evidence for me. RUN IT BACK.” Fans desperation was very much evident.

Parker had to undergo surgery for foot fracture in her last year. After it forced her out indefinitely, the LA Sparks star announced her retirement, saying, ‘she didn’t want to cheat the game’. So, some of the fans took it to the next level, offering to trade body parts just to see the WNBA star on the court again.“Tell her she can have my foot if she does lol,” a comment read.

Another joked, “I’ll give her both my brand new store-bought knees if she comes back!!” Meanwhile, some of the admirers couldn’t believe if it could happen for real as one chimed in, “Wait. Is that in the table???????” They also came up with funny ways to convince her to return.

One suggested, “While she’s signing autographs slip her a contract in there.” Well, this can’t be possible. But, the outcome? Yes, totally worth it! While her return is still in question, some fans are hoping for even more.

A comment read, “And bring Maya Moore back with you!” Well, that would be a ‘dream scenario.’ Both icons’ sudden retirement shocked everyone, and now fans hope for a double comeback. Amidst it all, one social media user summed it up, writing, “Back to conquer next season?”

It can’t be denied that if we look back, she has got nothing left to prove. But knowing the competitor Parker is, could she possibly be lacing her shoes for one more shot at glory? Next season’s roster will tell, but fans are so not ready to close this chapter just yet.
