Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin, Gabbie Marshall, Jada Gyamfi, Sydney Affolter. That was the consistent two-year lineup for the Iowa Hawkeyes during which they progressed to the Championship Finale game. Although they lost both of them, the Hawkeyes got themselves much-deserved applause and a unique place in NCAA basketball history. Hence, it was extremely special when the Hawkeyes had a mini-reunion on the internet on Gabbie Marshall’s birthday.
“Happy birthday to one of my best friends forever and ever. love you !!!!!,” wrote Kate Martin on Instagram while sharing a collage that included pictures from their on-court partnership to their off-court fun. Pointing out one of the pictures from the collage, Marshall wrote, “the bottom left 😂love u, see you so soon.” Notably, Marshall was there during the 2024 WNBA draft to support Clark and Martin as the two experienced one of the best days of their balling life.
Moving on, Martin during an interview in early August with Jada Gyamfi at Fresh Tawk with Jada Gymafi had shared her opinion of Marshall’s relationship with Spencer Touro. She had shared that she is quite close to the lovers and hoped that they get married soon. Plus, Martin while demonstrating her closeness to Marshall had opined that she and her boyfriend are “two of the best people of all times.”

However, it is not only Martin who had a fun mini-reunion as Marshall turned 24.
Iowa girls come together to wish Gabbie Marshall
Sydney Affolter came to the fore to wish Marshall on her 24th birthday. She posted their on-court and off-court memories on the social media networking site Instagram story and captioned it “happiest of day Gab!!! love you always.” To which Marshall replied with equal enthusiasm, “love you chica,” with a heart emoji and shared it on her Instagram story. Affolter joined the Hawkeyes in 2021 and hence, she was one of the core players who took the Hawkeyes to 2 NCAA back-to-back Finals.
Similarly, Jada Gyamfi also didn’t let the opportunity slip by to wish Marshall. She took to Instagram to share six memorable moments from their on-court and off-court journeys. “my ride or die, best friend for life, & what got me through the hardest days. I love you for life, gab,” wrote Gyamfi. Seeing so much love on social media, Marshall reshared the story and captioned it as “my sister.”
