The Las Vegas Aces are finally starting to fire on all fronts. The 2x defending champions have built momentum ahead of the Olympic break by winning 7 of their last 8 games. And they have A’ja Wilson to thank for most of it. Tonight, the reigning Finals MVP left everyone behind in the franchise’s 27-year history to become the all-time leading scorer. While the team had to change a lot of things internally to fulfill their threepeat mission, one thing has remained the same. That is everyone’s love and chemistry. Hence, seeing them celebrate their best player, their fans also wish they were there.

Talking about her monumental feat, A’ja Wilson said, “It means the world, it really does. It’s a special moment.” After the Aces won 104-85 over the visiting Dallas Wings, the squad returned to the locker room to celebrate the 2x Olympian’s achievement. The official Instagram account of the Las Vegas Aces posted a clip from the celebration. They captioned the post, “THE FRANCHISE’S ALL-TIME LEADING SCORER 👏Sorry @aja22wilson, we had to do it 😂☔️”

With 28 points tonight, Wilson now has 4301 points as an Aces player. She has achieved this feat in 209 games and now sits atop the list. Adding more to the special occasion is the fact that Sophia Young-Malcolm, who previously held the record, was in the Michelob ULTRA Arena on Sunday.

On alumni night, she also got to witness history in the making. However, nothing can take away the cheers that Aces’ fans shower the team with.

A’ja Wilson and the “unserious” Aces win over their fans, again!

The confidence that Las Vegas exudes can very well be a reflection of what goes on between the team off the floor. This celebration was not the first time that the roster has shown that they only want to mean business between the lines. In fact, their media day energy also proved to their fans that they are “very unserious.” Now, after an exemplary outing, their inner child made a comeback. An Aces follower came to the comment section to express their love for the team. They also mentioned that this team can enjoy their off time and also put up favorable results simultaneously.

Another fan pointed out how childish the entire group of Becky Hammon is. Time and again, we have seen these players pick at each other in a respectable but humorous manner. Remember when the crew left Kate Martin off the bus because she was a little late? And the Hello Kitty bag they gifted the rookie? Endearing is certainly the word one can use for Las Vegas.

Becky Hammon has been asked before about the team’s trust in each other. The head coach, who has been putting in some great results ever since she became part of the franchise, could not say much then. But we can see that there is nothing wrong with the teammates. A fan also resonated with the team’s love for every player. They mentioned how they can feel both happy and emotional because of Las Vegas.

She is also leading the entire league in points per game with 26.9 PPG. The Aces fan also mentioned how they cannot put their love for the team in words.

The Aces might be standing at the fifth position in the standings right now. While their journey may not have been a walk in the park so far, they are certainly making a comeback to prove their potential.
