One of the biggest WNBA matches is the Championship Finals where the New York Liberty are playing against the defending championships – the Las Vegas Aces. Given their game play, a sports analyst recently opened up on a harsh opinion against the Liberty.

Sports Analyst LaChina Robinson recently opined on the attitude of the New York Liberty at the end of Game 1. Robinson was speaking to another analyst Terrika Froster Brasby on an ESPN show ‘Around the Rim’ on Saturday when she talked at length about the Liberty?s disappointing loss. “Coz I know these are really good players, but what is going on. And I said this at the end of game 1. I felt like the Liberty quit at the end of Game 1. And I was really like wow, at the end of this game, they really aren’t trying…”
For the unversed, the Las Vegas Aces trumped the New York Liberty 99-82 during game 1 at Michelob ULTRA Arena on October 9. Though Breanna Stewart and Co. were at level during mid-game but failed to keep up with the Aces during the third and fourth quarters. Similarly, during Game 2, the Aces completely blew out Liberty by a margin of 28 points. The Aja-Wilson-led team decimated the Liberty during the first, third, and fourth quarters. And hence, the Aces have a 2-0 lead over the Liberty in the best-of-five Championship Finals. Sabrina Ionescu could also pocket only 17 points in both games combined.

New York Liberty?s head coach Sandy Brondello was also seen rousing their enthusiasm during mid-game on Thursday. She specifically encouraged them to make a comeback in the game and asked them to “Don?t look at the scoreline??. Despite giving their best, the New York Liberty were decimated by the Aces. However, there was a silver lining in the clouds for the Liberty as NBA legends such as LeBron James took notice of the Liberty star Marine Johannes for her exceptional three-pointers. But will the Liberty be able to perform under pressure?

The Liberty will clash with the Aces during Game 3 on Sunday at Brooklyn Centre in New York. To avoid a clean sweep, the Liberty will have to outshine their opponents in a must-win contest. The Breanna Stewart-lead team would be looking to make the most of their home hardwood and perform their best to stay alive in the competition. And hoping to not let negative opinions get in their head.
Thus, the popular opinion regarding the Liberty not performing to their potential is doing rounds on social media, and it only remains to be seen if the dig gets to the team.
