General Mills capitalized on Angel Reese’s name in September when they collaborated with the double-double Queen to launch Reese’s Puffs. Within no time, the special edition became a go-to cereal for many youngsters in America only adding to Reese’s name. However, when a lady in a general store wasn’t able to find Reese’s Puffs x Angel Reese, she did something that went so viral that the Chicago Sky star had to intervene.
“Finally made it to the store to find if they got my niece’s cereal boxes? Let’s see if they got one?,” a woman could be heard in a video on X while she strolled the lanes of a supermarket to find Reese’s Puffs in collab with the Chi-Town Barbie. However, when she found the normal packets of Reese’s puffs, she became so angry that she funnily knocked over the boxes. On seeing the viral video, Reese had to come forward to save her “auntie.”
“omgg nooo don’t knock over the boxes😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 send your address so i can send you a box auntie cause ion need you crashing out & going to jail bout me lmaooo,” the 22-year-old wrote on X while resharing the viral snippet, thus offering her the product through her collab with the $34 billion brand.

While Reese had announced her deal with Reese’s Puffs in September, the cereals officially hit the shelves on November 20. The brand owned by the $34 billion Hershey had kept everyone waiting for the actual product to arrive for the past few months. And when the cereal boxes finally hit the shelves, Reese had shared a video of herself distributing it among her fans.
While her admirers were filming their encounter with Reese, they were surprised that the Maryland-born was giving them “Angel X Reese’s Puffs” cereal and weren’t sure whether to capture the moment first or to accept the boxes from Reese’s car’s window. And once again, the former Kim Mulkey mentee proved her dominance in the brand space by offering the general store auntie boxes of her newly released cereal, who would have been disappointed not to find it for her niece. Meanwhile, Reese had previously credited her fans for getting her the deal.

Reese followed what her Uncle Shaquille O’Neal had done previously. Shaq had collaborated with Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes after turning down an offer from Wheaties during his championship days because he used to eat Frosted Flakes as a kid. Hence, in 2021 when Shaq finally featured in Kellogg’s limited edition cinnamon basketball cereal, it was nothing short of a dream come true.
Following his footsteps, Reese became the first ever WNBA star to collaborate with the brand, joining superstars such as Michael Phelps and Simone Biles. For the same, she started addressing her fans as Reese’s Pieces. Once her fans became comfortable with their new nickname, the brand too joined their conversation on X by tweeting “Where are we? Just following our favorite player.”

And when the collab was finally announced, Reese in an interview thanked her fans. “The connection between my name and the Reese’s brand was obvious, but it went deeper than that. My fans started calling themselves ‘Reese’s Pieces,’ and after I kept seeing it on social, I started engaging with some of my fans about it.,” Reese expressed.
As of now, the limited edition Reese’s cereal boxes have four unique back-of-box designs featuring the double-double Queen. The cereals are available in dual flavors of chocolate and peanut butter, and milk and cereal, mostly lauding her expertise in two fields: basketball and fashion. Therefore, the woman in the general store was miffed when she couldn’t find the boxes considering they were limited editions. Hopefully, by now, Reese by now would have sent it to the auntie which would definitely save her from jail for knocking over those packs.
